I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and was not let down. The beer selection was fantastic and the food was outstanding.

The restaurant has an amazing selection of beers that always change, and the food is also excellent. It's my top choice for passing time while waiting for a train or wanting to spend a couple of hours in the area.

Second time here and it was as good as I remembered. The bar staff are great and keen to recommend beers. Enjoyed the table service element and being able to pay at the end. Considering its proximity to the Royal Mile the vibe is really chilled and it’s not too busy.

Stopped here for a beer with my sister while killing some time before dinner on vacation. We just happened upon this little spot and it was fantastic. Great beers in a cool little bar just off the Royal Mile. Didn't have any food but the menu looked interesting as well. Definitely will return next time I'm in town!

A must visit for beer lovers. Has a long list of modern British and international beers available in bottles and cans, and a good selection of taps. They have a wide variety of beers to choose from. The staff was excellent in providing recommendations and were very attentive. Additionally, they offer a good selection of non-alcoholic beers. There is a bottle shop next door where you can purchase the beers you enjoy. The restaurant also has games and seating at the back. They serve delicious food such as burgers, chicken wings, and fries. We visited this place multiple times during our trip to Edinburgh.

I was a little worried visiting Salt Horse with friends as a fussy veggie and fussy drinker. From the moment we walked in, the staff were amazing! The menu has changed recently and veggies and vegans now have quite a choice. My loaded wedges with veggie haggis, vegan cheese and local charred peach hot sauce were ridiculously good. The burgers for the others were awesome as was my no chicken chicken! The drinks choice is extensive for beer but wine choices are also good. Every beer type seemed to be available. The quality of service and welcoming feel is what really made our visit great. Thanks guys!

I have an interest in world beers, Belgian in particular and whilst travelling from the highlands on the train, I researched a place to eat and enjoy a drink or two once I reached Edinburgh. Salt Horse hit the right buttons and was supposed to be open when I arrived. They were closed due to unavoidable circumstance when I arrived, but we’re indeed open when they said they would be but this just left me an hour or so. The server answered all questions from myself and others, recommended beers, went across to the shop for a couple of bottles for me, even though the shop was officially closed, and made sure my food came out in a timely manner in order for me to get to the train station for my o...
