"visited bristol for the weekend in the last minute and we did not come to hotel until 9.30 we have our things and went for a little hike, expected that a takeaway style have eat somewhere. san carlo went around 10 and inquired about the...off chance. lady in front of the house was welcoming and immediately accommodated us, although the restaurant was obviously busy. we were thrilled by our sound - we had both delicious appetizers and snacks. the food was presented beautifully, full of taste and good portion size. wein was beautiful and the staff, although obviously busy, were all attentive. we would have had dessert, but the service mail networks were slow (that was about 10:45 and the employees were cleansed around us and the others diner, so they might not want us to have any.) will definitely return if in the opposite!"

Had oysters, plump and fresh, delicious. Lobster ravioli in cream and pink pepper sauce was absolutely delicious. Dessert ok. Very well looked after by the waiter. A thoroughly lovely evening.

visited san carlo with my friend in the October last year. I loved eating absolutely. I walked past this restaurant many times and I have always looked at the beautiful furnishings. the quality of the service, the tasty eating, everything was at the point. I would like to eat there whenever I am in bristol again.

We had a table of 5 for my birthday on a Saturday lunchtime. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly and our Portuguese waiter went out of his way to make our visit memorable. The menu is extensive with something for everyone and we were...all seriously impressed how good the food was, including my London based discerning sons who are quite picky. I love this place. How it manages to maintain a family run vibe yet be part of a larger chain is truly impressive. View menu

We went for a family celebration and booked based on the reviews. The menu is overpriced and misleading. We returned 3 of the 4 starters as they were almost inedible. Breaded and deep fried mozzarella turns out to be toasties, dripping in grease and little...cheese. Tuna tartare was awful. We had to chase down staff to take our drinks and then food orders and service was at best poor all night. Very overpriced for average food and less than average service. Such a shame.

I came to lunch with my daughter on Sunday. she was already earlier, but that was my first visit. beautiful looking restaurant and no problem getting a table. we just wanted to have a little lunch, so both went for a pasta court and we shared. some Italian brot. I had the Romanov who was in a wodka creamy sose laughs, my daughter had the mushes with spaghetti. both were delicious. the service was good, most of the waiting staff were friendly and attentive. they add a 10% service fee, which I would type anyway. I would like to come back here and recommend.

we went to a solemn birthday meal and we were very disappointed at the level of the service provided by the staff. when our tellers were clarified, we were asked if we wanted dessert. when I said yes, it seemed almost an hour. The staff, including the general manager, were more interested in brothering with a few female guests, including for a zigarette. in the did the gm was disappointed that his "falg break" was interrupted when he was asked to come and see us about our complaint. there was no excuse from the gm, no attempt to put the right about our complaint. from any reason the employees seem to think that the customers should be privileged to spend their hard earned money in san carlo. my partner went twice in a week. once as a couple and a second time where we treated the family. the decor was very nice. they serve in the night that you have flown very well. in the night two, they were like a fair one. but slower. but we were not in the hurry. I have a nice cry there. the weep can pricy. only one warning. two little dinge. fist at night, I poured the wee after I first poured from the workers. second at night. the guy put us on the head. the personal should ask if they want this service. not only do. he was pleasant enough and we didn't want to spoil the atmosphere and a manager type was a bit grumpy to one of our tables. Not nice if they pay good money. the remaining empl...

Visited for an early afternoon Family meal and left somewhat underwelmed'. The Service was a real mixed affair, the Maitre D' was plain rude, his surly attitude was just unecessary a lesson in Customer Service' is long overdue for him The other staff...wer good. The food was good, especially the Monk Fish which was fantastic A couple of other small annoyances: 1)They automatically add 10% Service Charge to your Bill, something I expect to see for a Group Booking but not when it's 4 people! (Is this because people don't Tip given the crappy Service? 2)They have a serious problem with Flies, every table had Customers swatting them PLEASE INVEST IN SOME FLY SPRAY What should have been a nice...

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
