"Wanting something small to eat after a 'Jack the Ripper ' walking tour, we popped into Shahi Karahi solely because of the nice looking food on the grill at the front. Seeing the chef at work is generally a good sign and we weren 't disappointed. It 's not a fancy 'destination ' restaurant, more somewhere to have some nice food and move on, but our grilled King Prawns were tender and tasty, while the tarka dhal was full of flavour. Tandoori roti helped us sop up the dhal and the whole thing was topped off by two very nice lassi 's (no alcohol is served). The staff were very friendly and we 'd definitely go again next time were in Brick Lane."

Been here a couple of times and I am a huge fan of their lamb karahi, so soft and tender. Place could do with brightening up a little but has great food at an excellent price View menu

Everything was fine, but a little tired and uninspiring. Drab decor with a large TV on (which is fine I was there for the food). The food was OK but nothing to write home about, not as cheap as it might be for such a mundane experience.

Look, it was just the first takeaway I found. And I was a little worried when he put some rice and curry in a container and microwaved. But it turned out very good and rich, as did the (unmicrowaved) samosa. Has fresh grills as well. Will return.

The food is no longer fresh. I initially raved about this place when I first went. It is clear that the restaurant are cutting corners and have become extremely complacent. I really thought we had found THE Indian restaurant, bit unfortunately the service quality and hygiene has declined dramatically. Please do not go there anymore. View menu

I ate at this joint on 5 occasions during my 2 weeks stay in london for work/pleasure at the hotel next door. Spent new years in London as a 1st timer. Introduced to this place by couple of old friends who have made london home now. This is down as afghan food joint but it 's more like indian. I love the lamb ribs at this place they were marvelicious (brit accent). Tried curries with rice twice and it was awsome both times.Recommendations:Lamb ghost with lentils ricechcicken balti, chickpeas spinach riceLamb ribs= MUST every time!Staceymansfield, tx.

After my experience..... thank goodness! I say forget refurb...demolish and start again!...preferably with new owners!Visited 31.7.16 ordered donner meat, as it was advertised as £3, asked if I wanted nan or chips, went for chips. When I got the food, was charged £4.50...they charged £2 for piddly bit of burnt chips.Maybe its me thinking chips or nan is standard with donner across the country!... should've argued about it but on a Sunday, nearly 11pm...no point.....and the food was oily, bland and not worth it if they were giving it away....as the owner said it'll all go in his freezer when they refurb from the 1st of August.
