"Today was our second visit. Previously we had gone as a group of six (including two teenagers). Having ordered our meals we were kept waiting for two hours. Yes, the staff apologised and even waived the cost of the meal but this should not have happened. When the meals arrived my cheese and onion pie was burnt. It looked burnt so why was it sent out. It was so hard my knife wouldn't go through it. I ordered another which came with great haste. It was still hard and noting like a traditional Lancashire pie (avoid it). Mt husband and I decided to give it another chance so we went for Sunday lunch. The food came quickly but the chapatti was burnt; it was very crisp and inedible a minor point perhaps but I could see it was burnt so why couldn't the chef (or was he hoping I wouldn't complain)? The menu hardly caters at all for vegetarians and not at all for vegans. They need to up their game.On a different matter the weren't even remotely observing covid rules. The cutlery was already on the tables; the waitesr, who didn't wear protection, were standing much too near people. There was no attempt to keep people two metres apart. We definitely won't be back. There are so many good pubs around."

We only called in for a drink, but this is a lovely pub. Very pleasing on the eye, with lots of quaint small rooms and a super beer garden with great panoramic views. Looking forward to visiting again

I have a few niggles about our hotel stay and dinner but over all this hotel has done a brilliant job to make us all feel safe at this awful time. The niggles are the beds in the suites are only double, the room setups...

After a long and exhausting walk along the Tolkien Trail we stopped off for a much needed refreshment. We also had a bite to eat. We both had homemade pie, one steak and ale and one cheese and onion. The cheese and onion was outstanding!...

Had a 20% off food voucher through the door so decided to venture across the road to the Shireburn. Staff were friendly welcoming. The starters of mackeral pate prawn cocktail were plentiful tasty, as were the yummy beef pie (pastry was lush)...

We had Sunday lunch here and were extremely disappointed! The service was very slow. My sister and I ordered the roast beef which was nothing more than a lump of fatty gristle! We complained about the poor quality but instead of replacing the meal, they ‘rectified’ the problem by bringing out another slice of (still) tough beef by which time the rest of the dish was cold , it wasn’t hot to start with! Not only did they not deduct the beef from the bill, they overcharged us by miscalculating our bill. Avoid this restaurant and don’t waste your money!

"I wasn't at blueberries with my friends since before covid so it was great to kick through the door and see how busy it is, fortunately I had a table for lunch. there is nothing special vegan on the menu, but they try to place their very hardest, in contrast to some places. I love a jacket kartoffel and choose her beats with various items from the menu, so ordered frying and avocado. katherine, one of the owners and cook came on our table and said she could suggest some other dishes and also vegan cheese if I did not the jacket kartoffel, but if I still did how about the topping of sonbs. what a nice geste and I will visit her on her offer of other options at the next. I noticed that they were able to offer vegan options for their Christmas card and also had two vegan, frozen meals to take away, moussaka and chili. my friends ordered a chicken and specksalat and a fish and chips and both said that eating was delicious with a mention that the chips were the best. my kartoffel was huge, with a lot of topping, served with beautiful salat and quickly grinded. the food is made fresh to order and blueberries is very popular as full it was on a cold Wednesday afternoon. there is also a small marquee on the side of the blueberries, which for those who are brave and sitting the weather and of course adds extra space. I really can't knock blueberries, they may not have vegan options (although a cake would be nice and I need to ask if they have plant milk as I always have my own. but they will always try to eat rusty something satisfying and with announcing can something like a vegan hotpot that I had before, what was brilliant."
