Everything was lovely as usual and we’re already looking forward to our next visit! The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive.

Absolutely gorgeous food, I highly recommend the steak and Stilton pie and lamb shank which me and my partner loved. Great atmosphere and friendly staff

The food and service are second to none. Mr. had steak pie and I had the gammon. Clearly, it was all freshly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend. What a hidden gem. Very welcoming especially the locals at the bar. I was in the area for one night prior to a family funeral. They included me in their conversations and wished me well. Lovely roaring wood burning stoves on a very cold night. The food was home made and delicious. Would recommend it without hesitation. Thank you

Visited tonight with my husband and daughter. Out first visit didn’t disappoint at all. Beautiful old building and a lovely outdoor seating area. We had drinks and a meal- Garlic mushrooms- big portion Tomato soup- hot, thick tasty Thai fish cakes- small and a little lacking in flavour, but enjoyable Fajitas… massive portions really delicious Fish and chips.,, just perfect!! We will return, thank you! Great staff too

Outstanding menu and service. We've been here twice first as a full family gathering of 8 and then just a cozy meal for 4. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The local British fare had been cooked to perfection and enjoyed by all. I would further add that they looked after my [solo] Father in Law with reaching out to catering for him at home during the Covid lockdown/restrictions of which he really looked forward to and enjoyed. A charming pub in a picturesque village, conveniently located just off the A50, making it an excellent meeting point for friends. There were 8 of us in total and we had a selection of dishes the Lasagne, Scampi, Chicken Fajitas, and fish and chips all of which were absolutely delightful. In fact, my daughter declared it the best lasagne ever! For dessert, we enjoyed ice cream, cheesecake, and sticky toffee pudding. The portions were generous, great value for money, and the service and staff were excellent. I'd certainly return for another visit soon!

Been to this pub quite a few times now and we can not fault the food it’s always very good. The only thing that lets it down is the local pub atmosphere. Every time a newcomer walks in it’s like you have 2heads. There was a manager that I believe has left on maternity leave and she was the only person that made newcomers feel welcome. Now it feels like you are an inconvenience for wanting to spend your money there. If you don’t want people to eat in your restaurant then please put up a notice saying “if you are not local then you are NOT welcome”. Would suggest you also tell lady with the cockerpooh dog that manners cost nothing. Shame really about the atmosphere as the interior is very cosy...

It was OK but for the price I would expect more The lasagne says its a favourite but it was just OK, too much strong cheese and not enough flavour in the sauce etc and a small portion also. Chips are to thick so just taste of potato. Large salad but to much dressing. Dessert was a sundae which says on the menu its massive with ice cream and sauce. Dessert arrived and it was neopolitan ice cream out of a supermarket tub with squirty cream, sprinkles and a flake and no sauce for £6.50 absolute rip off Atmosphere was local pub for local people at the front, not the welcome we were expecting and groups of rowdy young men.
