"Popped in for a coffee on our way to visit the caves. We enquired if it was ok to bring our dog in. This was absolutely fine although we would have to sit near the back of the café, brilliant!! Not an issue. We ordered two coffees and some shortbread. Whilst waiting for our order the lady serving came over to our table and asked if our dog would like a treat (does a bear sh*t in the woods!!!:O they even had her favourite one there!!! Shortly after our coffee and shortbread arrived, both of which were delicious. The interior of the café is quite quirky (in a really lovely, homely way!!! and instantly feels warm and welcoming. This coupled with the helpful and attentive staff make this a must visit coffee stop for anyone!!!"

What a lovely find in Cheddar. Worth a visit. Quirky and lovely cosy coffee shop. Watch for iron works from owner Gerald the owner all around the premises.

It's a bit run down, the coffee was average, the carrot cake was some generic mass produced product. But the service was super friendly and they couldn't do enough for you. Proactively ask if we wanted our water bottles filled up. Even went out of their way to find me some salt. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Charming tea room (it's actually quite spacious, despite its exterior) with beautifully designed interior decor. I was craving a good cup of coffee, and it certainly delivered; the latte and hot chocolate were excellent, and the lemon cake portion was quite generous. The service was very friendly, with everything served right to our table. This will definitely be my first choice the next time we're in Cheddar. Service: Dine in.

"We live just down the road from Axbridge and popped in for dinner as we had heard good things about this place. The first thing that is difficult is parking! There are restrictions everywhere for 24 hours a day as far as we could tell. Of course, that is not the fault of the restaurant but it does contribute to one 's enjoyment of an evening.Anyway, the restaurant and bar area are very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming. we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady and had a drink at the bar first. very chatty and friendly woman behind the bar too.On being seated at the restaurant, we had a tasty amuse bouche and drinks (decent wine list .The menu is good. There were at least three things on there that I could have ordered on the spot! Traditional British style choices, very nice. However, I could not justify paying £30 for an 8oz fillet of beef with some sauce!!I had the pigeon starter, which was very nicely cooked, pink all the way through and tender as well (water bath, maybe? . However, when it arrived at the table it was all quite cold as if it had been sitting for a while before being brought out. My wife had the soup, which was home made and she said it was good.We both went for the pork belly main course, and both agreed that it was rather dry. There was nice crackling and all the potatoes and veg were nicely cooked, but the actual pork meat was not unctuous with reduced fat. All in all, good service, nice place but the kitchen was not on top form that night. We would give them another chance however, this meal was 'average ', not 'poor '."

"I did visit here based on the good reviews I had read. However, I was very disappointed by what I was offered the service. I was visiting the area on a trip to cheddar gorge popped in here to grab a quick fulfilling breakfast before heading off for a day of adventure. I was one of the first into the restaurant and I greeted the waitress on shift but was not greeted with a particularly warm welcome. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast which was overpriced and greasy. Being the only place open for breakfast at that time, there is an opportunity to really own the space with no competition at that time, but I was left regretting my decision with x2 1 3rds of a pepper fried in oil, potatoes fried in oil, sausages, egg and mushrooms which I’m sure could (and probably were) all fried in one pan. I couldn’t finish it all because of the amount of grease I can’t say that I have experienced this, however I feel the feel, taste and presentation of the food was what I would expect if I was a trucker passing a rest stop and the food was more for convenience than passion for food. I had a glass of orange juice and an oat milk latte which was pleasant and tasted fresher than the rest of the breakfast. The toilet is a little strange too, being a male female baby changing which I can understand have no issue with. However, it was not well kept or finished and looked again like something you would find on a rest stop in America on a longer route highway where there is no competition and through necessity would be chosen to attend. It’s a shame, I would love to commend this place, but the only thing I can say is the coffee was nice the cakes looked tasty. But other than that, cheap food prepared with little care quality of presentation and very expensive for what you get. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for nice food, there are plenty of other places that open an hour later (which are worth it when combined with the quality of the food vs convenience)."
