Spice Lounge - Menu

The food was decent, but our experience was ruined by the rude waitstaff. We encountered unfriendly service from two different waiters on three separate occasions. Additionally, they seemed to expect a tip at the end. Overall, we suggest trying Merchants of Spice instead.

First time in Norwich and this restaurant was near our hotel. We popped in for evening dinner on spec not having booked and there were plenty of tables on Sunday night and it was not a problem. Staff friendly, efficient and attentive. Meal was nicely...prepared and full of flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the restaurant.

Booked a table with no problems, food was lovely, Kingfisher on draught and Bangla beer available from fridge. Chicken Madras was beautiful, we had 3 chicken dishes, lovely flavours, very tender. Garlic Naan bread was also a winner. Staff were very attentive, very nice restaurant...highly recommended also close to other pubs and cocktail bars too.

that was a very nice meal. the waiters were a little overrun until more people were found on this Sunday evening than they were ever on a Sunday before. Despite the challenge, they got to the start and even made a smile. The foods were freshly cooked and very tasty. it was just lucky we were there. a cancelled flight, a night in a hotel and to make everything a very good meal.

We were told our food would arrive at 8:05pm, but it didn’t arrive until 9:45pm. This was over two hours since the order was placed, and we were greeted with a rude reply from the delivery driver who didn’t seem at all apologetic at the...delay. Furthermore, we tried calling the restaurant multiple times to no reply during this time. I strongly advise to avoid this restaurant at all costs.

I returned to a previously loved restaurant to say goodbye. The service was disappointing with a delivery driver in the kitchen and a rude waiter. The food was average, but the garnish dish was undercooked. I could have spent my money better elsewhere for a more enjoyable atmosphere. I don't recommend going here, as my honest opinion is that the restaurant has not been improved by the pandemic.

Terrible, booked table but when arrived they were annoyed because they were full and said they had no room for us!. Eventually found us a dirty table and when they finally took our drinks order it was wrong and then we had to ask 3...times to 3 different waiters to take our food order. Shocking, never ever will we return. Food bland. When the popodums turned up the tray of dips were second hand straight from the table next to us, all dirty, empty and used up.

I have been to the spice lounge a few times over the years and have always been satisfied with the service and quality. In my last two visits I have been greeted by pushy and borderline rude staff eager to upsell anything they can force...down your throat. Cleanliness was very poor with plenty of last sittings left overs spread across tablecloth before seating; this gave me serious reservations about the kitchen hygiene and perhaps their food security also. It is clear too see this restaurant is struggling as cost cutting is evident everywhere. I have dined at this restaurant several times in the past and always had a good experience. However, my most recent experience has made me decide never to return. I placed a takeaway order through their website at 6.15pm with a delivery time of 6.50pm. By 7.20pm, my order had still not arrived and after trying to call the restaurant multiple times with no answer, I finally got through. I was told to call a different number, which I refused to do. When I asked about my order, I was informed that the machine was broken and they had no intention of fulfilling it.
