"Nice place for those who can never decide what to eat, who like all inclusive type of buffets and for those who like Asian food. Big variety of all sorts of fried chicken in different sauces (sweet and sour, KFC style, baked etc ect), pork (peking, in dumplings, pulled). Different noodle and rice variations (egg fried, basmati, plain rice). Not a big variety of sushi (a lot of rice and not enough fish/filling). Bolognese was really bad (overcooked spaghetti with what tasted like canned beef). Different pizza options. I enjoyed the variety of desserts (cakes, Profiteroles, ice cream, sliced fruits). I have to add that I visited it on Saturday at 4 pm, so the place was fully stocked with food and wasn't too busy)."

We went as a large family group and it was ideal. The kids could get up and try what they wanted and refill their own drinks. We could all eat at our own pace, try lots of things, and there was something to suit each palate. Very relaxed. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back. View menu

I recently had a fantastic weekend at the Spoons World Buffet Bar. First, I visited with two of my colleagues for our Christmas dinner, and then I went back with my four young ones to unwind after a busy couple of weeks. Spoons did not disappoint! The dining and dessert stations are incredible, offering a great variety of absolutely delicious options. I can't wait to return!

However, the sushi selection was somewhat lacking, as there was an abundance of rice but not enough fish, which was a bit disappointing. On a positive note, I really enjoyed the dessert variety, which included cakes, profiteroles, ice cream, and fresh fruit. I should mention that I visited on a Saturday at 4 PM when the restaurant was quite full, but it wasn't overly crowded, making for a pleasant dining experience. View menu

the first time in this restaurant for dinner. the food was great, choice for every taste and very well flavored. the service was as good as they get and we were treated well and very respectful. jenny the manager was super great and treated us very well and respectful. a manager is worth it, a great honest review for. I will assure them they will go back. I also want to add. give jenny a wage rise as their customer service skills were fantastic. I'll see you soon.

Really nice place, must do well as very busy! We enjoyed the food very much my partner said the pork in black pepper sauce was delicious! I enjoyed the vegetable and prawn dishes also the thin based pizzas, best of all loved the dessert area where there was marshmallows with chocolate dip, cherry bakewell, several gateaus, ice-cream, and various other small cakes best of all Eton mess!!! Good value! Next time I'm just going all you can eat sweet buffet!! Please ignore reviews from last few years that are negative as quite a few months ago this place, shut down then opened again and is much improved

"Checking in to a hotel in an unfamiliar place, it is tempting to book one 's first evening meal in the hotel 's restaurant (unless, of course, one has had chance to research the alternatives beforehand . This may seem a safe option, but is often a mistake, as it was on my visit to Ipswich. Had I only known that a minute 's walk along the quayside would have taken me to Mariners, I should have eaten there twice rather than only once! A floating restaurant can often prove to be a bit of a gimmick, but Mariners seemed to get good reviews so, on night two, I gave it a try. A beautifully restored and maintained Dutch customs gunboat from 1900, with gleaming brass and polished woodwork, the restaurant offers a limited, but well-constructed, menu to satisfy most tastes. Being aboard a boat, I opted for seafood, and was not disappointed. There being an R in the month , mussels were a good choice for my starter, followed by a seafood skewer , presented with just enough theatre to be amusing but not over the top. Not fine dining , perhaps, but well-prepared, nicely presented and very satisfying dishes at reasonable prices. A limited wine list, perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but the Picpoul de Pinet proved to be an excellent accompaniment without over-stressing the credit card. Service struck just the right balance between politeness and friendliness. My fellow diners embraced the whole age spectrum (I was by far the oldest! weighted perhaps towards the younger end, the common factor being that everyone (myself included was clearly enjoying themself. There are many other dining venues along the Ipswich quayside that my brief visit did not allow me to try, but Mariners can be recommended as a safe and enjoyable bet."
