"We have been loyal customers of Steff's for many years and have always enjoyed their food. However, we were disappointed to see that lunch time snacks had been removed from the menu after COVID and moved to their take away location across the street. Today, we decided to try their toasted sandwiches instead. When we ordered, we were informed that they were low in stock at only 12:15pm, which was the start of lunch time. Despite this, we proceeded with our order. Unfortunately, when our sourdough toasties arrived, they were burnt with black, rock hard edges that made it difficult to even cut into them. The ham in my sandwich was also black around the edges. When we brought this up to the waitress, she simply stated that they were made in a machine. Additionally, because payment is now taken at the time of ordering, no one checked in with us to see how our meal was going. It felt as though the staff were avoiding us entirely. At £9 each, these sandwiches were practically inedible. We will continue to visit the garden centre, but will not be returning to the restaurant."

Amazing breakfast! Make sure you get there before 11am at the weekend though otherwise you will miss out! The choice of food was fantastic, staff attentive and generally a really lovely place to stop for breakfast

Fantastic experience. The restaurant has a stylish and modern atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the service is efficient. The menu offers a great variety of options and the food is delicious. Prices are reasonable. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit. We will be back and will be recommending it to our friends.

The rude lady running the place needs to go on a management class how to talk to customers. I can understand the place was busy but twice she was rude to us.. to the point we cancelled our order and ate at a lovely cafe on the High Street. Have been here before.. not again save your money and visit other places nearby where the ambience is more relaxed staff know how to treat customers.. waiting staff just rude lady behind bar..

Popped in for afternoon tea with the grandchildren. They ordered the milk shakes but were very disappointed. Firstly they got one order wrong so I went to the counter and watched her make the vanilla milkshake : just a little syrup in the bottom of a small plastic cup topped up with milk, not even stirred or shaken! The children said it was the worst milkshake they had ever tasted not the standard one would expect from this establishment!! View menu

We decide that breakfast out would be a treat on the morning of our 55th wedding anniversary. Steff’s was the first place that sprung to mind, so off we went. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived at 9.15 so we sat overlooking the outdoor displays of Fairweathers. We ordered one vegetarian breakfast and one Beaulieu breakfast which you will see on the picture. Not only were they beautifully presented and served but they were clearly freshly cooked along with tea and coffee and toast. It was the treat we had imagined thanks to all at Steff’s.

Have frequented this restaurant for some years now and normally had good service. Today is Sunday and as the minutes continue to tick by, still no breakfast 45 mins now Politely asked for another coffee while waiting but that hasn’t happened. 46 mins and a burnt breakfast bap has just arrived with an undercooked egg. Servers are working hard but were not told of chef problems. We have recently moved to the area but won’t be coming back. After 47 minutes we got a refund for the breakfast bap only. Maybe I should charge for 46 minutes of my life.

On a long run and in need of a coffee popped into Stef's Kitchen to order a coffee. Didn't realise I had entered the restaurant, I asked for an Americano to take away and the lady told me to go to the kiosk on the other side of the road it wasn't overly clear. Anyway, went over and had a lovely cup of coffee £2.90) and great service. Collected the coffee from the window and went back over the road to sit outside the restaurant which lots of cyclists and other explorers were clearly doing. A lovely spot to sit outdoors. I'd recommend and come back again! View menu

This café in a charming village is really lovely. Even though it was packed, the manager kindly allowed us to sit in a section that was usually closed off. The service was speedy and efficient. The cream teas were generous and tasty. My son raved about the chips that came with his toastie, saying they were the best he's ever had. The kids were a bit let down that their milkshakes were made with powder or syrup rather than being thick shakes, but to be fair, they weren't advertised as such. The assortment of cakes all looked mouthwatering, but unfortunately, we were too full to give them a try.

We ordered 2 of the specials just after the lunch service began at noon. After 30 minutes we enquired as to how long the food would be and again after an hour. We were given differing information each time and there was an air of resigned indifference from the staff. The food finally arrived just over an hour after ordering. Surprisingly the food was well cooked and tasty. We were offered a couple of slices of cake to take away as an apology but we ended up with 2 disappointing cookies. The fast food elements of the menu were delivered to other customers very quickly but everything looked overcooked (burnt burger buns and fish batter). If you are going to offer specials then at least gear up...
