"The restaurant is located inside the Boehm delicatessen shop. On Saturdays it is always packed and you might be in for a long wait. In this case, look for the sushi bar deeper inside the store. It is run by the same team and equally good. Usually, some places are to be had there without a long wait. The staff, including the chefs are not Japanese, but Thai. Still, they are well trained and know how to prepare good sushi. Certainly this is one of the best sushi restaurants in Stuttgart, but it would be just above average in Japan. Some shortcuts taken in preparation, also noted by other reviewers, would not happen there. On the other hand, the fish is of good quality and well handled. The rice is not too sweet and the sushi pieces have the right size. The strong point of Sushi-ya is its reliability. I come here often for a quick lunch during Saturday shopping and was never disappointed. The staff is courteous and friendly. It is quite pricey, but what do you expect in the most exclusive deli of one of Germany's cities?"
