"Nice looking small café type of place and was told that they can accommodate a gluten free diet as I suffer from coeliac disease and must avoid all types of gluten. I ordered a ham sandwich with gf bread and when it arrived it looked...good and had crisps on the plate. I asked what brand of crisps they used and was told they were Walkers, I told her that they were not gluten free. The women who prepared the food came out and told me they were gf, which as a long term sufferer of coeliac disease I found rather insulting. I told her that I could not eat the food due to fact it would make me ill , but she went on to say that it says no gluten' on the packet,(which it does not) but then changed her mind. GF crisps are available but if you searched Walkers you will see that they are not gf. Also when I mentioned cross contamination the woman who prepared the food said that it can happen as they only have a small kitchen. I paid for the drinks we had but not the food as we left it untouched. The young girl serving and cleaning the tables was excellent and understanding and could teach the older staff some manners."

The staff are all very friendly. We had a family Sunday Roast to take-away and it was delicious. Very hearty meal with all the trimmings. Would recommend

Not been here since the last award. Had raost beef, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots and mashed swede transformed by a little black pepper. Very tasty, plentiful and excellent value. Efficient friendly service, and sensible COVID precautions i operation

Dropped in for a coffee, was tempted by the delicious looking sweet treats. Had a cream tea, an almond cookie and a blackcurrant cheesecake. My word it was all so good. Very reasonable too and very friendly staff , nothing too much trouble. Would highly...recommend and will go back !!

A lovely little cafe, with friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere and lovely food. Our bacon sandwiches were excellent and so, so tasty, while the home made cakes were delicious. We were impressed by their covid awareness and great cleaning protocol. Wish this was on our...doorstep and not 200 miles away

Over the last few years I have visited this establishment and found the welcome, the standard of food and value for money of the highest standard each time. I like good British food and they provide that with a smile (currently under a mask, admittedly)....I chose a roast dinner, and found all the elements well cooked and tasty.

I visited with my parents and 7 months old baby. we all enjoyed the truthahn and gaybread very much. it is the best truthahn I had! delicious gravy and kartoffeln also. also their desserts were miraculous. friendly and helpful service with the best high chair...I am welcome in any restaurant with my baby. I would recommend this wonderful little gem of a caffe and let my local friends know! I'm glad to see you again soon.

we had to sit in our car while the rain was for half an hour to get out, but we were excited to find this beautiful caffe right above the road from the parking lot. a nice warm welcome, my. partner was even given a serviette to dry his glasses! great selection at home made cake and light bite and breakfast sandwiches. we ordered a tee that came in scenic teekanne and cup and saucer and a rarity extra hot water, a latte and two delicious buttertee cake.
