Choice excellent. Food whatever it is is fresh, cooked perfectly. Best takeaway I've had in years. Whether it be just fish and chips, or pie,or kebab.

Excellent Service, The fish and Chips I had this evening were really good. Soft flaky cod with a crisp batter. The Curry sauce was delicious aswell. 10/10

Really enjoyed our food- the battered sausage was the best I have ever had and the chips were lovely. We live on a boat and this was a flying (or should I say frying) visit! Will definitely come here again when we’re back in the area.

Was told this place was good, understatement, it is excellent! Normally we only eat fish n chips from the coast on holidays but this is every bit as good. We also had a Greek meze box...wow proper nice. Great place for a takeaway, and spotlessly clean five

We are staying in the village for a couple of days. We were really pleased to see that Tuesday nights there are gluten free choices. Also had a really quick response when I messaged them re allergies. My son was over the moon to be able to have fish in batter from a chip shop for the first time. View menu

This is our local fish and chip shop takeaway. It is consistently good!! This weekend though they have a special on. Hake!! I could not fault it. Soft, flaky, tasty, crunchy batter, well cooked, fresh, and hot!! Other dishes included the Mixed Gyros, and a Mixed Meat and Chips. All was very tasteful, hot, and cooked very well. This was at a time when it was very busy, must of been 20+ people waiting for there takeaway. Great work to you all at the Alrewas Fryer!!!

Because of roadworks I feared I would never actually get out of Alrewas, so feeling peckish I called in at the Fryer. The shop is clean, bright and welcoming. I ordered the smallest portion of fish and chips and was a little taken aback at the price....£7.50. This is between £1 and £2 MORE than I usually pay at any of the chippies not so far away. When I opened the tray I found a small serving of chips, rather less than I'm used to, and the fish was quite grey and unappetising. Was it cod or haddock or neither? Maybe I just arrived on a bad day.

I have to say (and I’ve been living in this village for 18 years) the Fryer has always been a terrific take away, quality is excellent. They have now included a Greek selection of meals and take away items which is lovely. I am particularly fond of the halloumi salad. It has fresh ingredients onion, tomatoes, olives and cucumber. The halloumi although tasty is only 2 pieces….and costs £5.20. A block of halloumi (which has about 7 8 slices costs around £2.50. So I realise there is cooking and prep but x2 small slices is a little bit mean? I mentioned this and the response was ‘that’s what we serve’….ho hum. View menu
