Fab food pulled pork was out of this world, traditional German style eating house with friendly German owners, and the German dark and light beer fantastic. Breath of fresh air from the usual bar meal, left feeling full and pleased that we had had such...a tasty meal for a reasonable price. Well worth a visit we will defo return. P.s thanks for the lemon/alcohol milkshake after drink just to top a lovely meal off. Thanks

With friends we enjoyed a lovely meal, wine and beer. We were a little dubious as to what it would be like as previous reviews are mixed. We all had different types of schnitzel which were tasty and of stomach filling proportions. The interior, we...think, is trying to replicate a beer keller but it was clean and comfortable if a little rustic. This is not fine dining but it is wholesome tasty food at a very reasonable price and we will return.

Stunning food, large portions and a great quality to every dish, across pulled pork, schnitzel, burger, wings etc. Wonderfully friendly service matched with full happy bellys left us promising a return visit, if only to try other dishes and another blonde beer in the German...bar. Will hope to enjoy seeing the venture go from strength to strength and eat our way into helping! Perhaps our school level German may improve in time too! Go try it, you won't be disappointed. This place is fabulous the food here is wonderfull both times that we have eaten here the sauces and the salad are out of this world even just some salad is fabulous do not no what the dressing was but even that tasted fabulous we...always have very good service just to go for a drink the place is friendly and there is never any trouble like there can be in town the staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you the atmosphere is always very friendly and welcoming

I had a groupon voucher for four so took some friends there on Saturday July I had booked the table for p.m, arrived early so we could have a few beers first. We took our table but we were interupted on several...occasions regarding ordering our food, eventually we were left alone until we decided to order the food. The starters my husband and friend had were ok but slightly overpriced at each. Then came our mains three of the party had schnitzels and one the burger. This came with bacon which was cold and not very appetising, we complained to the chef about this,but he seemed more worried about going outside for a smoke!!!! and he did not wash his hands on his return, as we had full view of...

Went one evening in April. I had pulled pork sandwich, partner had schnitzel of some type. Food looked great when it arrived. Pork was very soft but the sandwich was ruined by both having enormous amounts of a dreadful BBQ sauce on it, which totally...dominated the flavour, and being in a very poor quality bread roll. Schnitzel was OK but nothing special. Chips were great though. Had no coleslaw; said they had sold out over the weekend'. So surely you've planned for this and make more fresh every day? Place was dingy and dirty. Ashtrays outside hadn't been emptied for days. Staff seemed more interested in chatting to regulars and taking cigarette breaks than serving. Can't see it being open... I had a groupon for this restaurant, I tried to book a table but no one answered the phone so we just arrived one friday night. My partner and I do not live in Malton so it was a planned trip out for an evening...meal. When we walked in we had to wait for the staff to finish their private conversation in another language. Then they tendered to us and we asked if we could have dinner there with our groupon. They said if we hadnt booked then no we cant (and the restaurant was empty). They said that they cant serve us food beacuse people come in around and they may not have enough food for them if they serve us?! really?! We thought they were joking and laughed but they werent. We visited the BBQ House on Friday, May. First impressions were pretty dreadful. Patchy and rough car parking, dead bay trees either side of the front door, a selection of either empty or weed-filled window boxes it looked derelict and unloved. It on the weekend of Malton Food Festival, so the town was very busy. When we arrived there were others there, a couple and three men. We were ignored and then eventually greeted by an eastern european wardrobe of a man. Ignoring the filthy and sticky stone counter, we ordered a glass of dry white wine and a glass of merlot or shiraz. We made the mistake of inviting two friends to join us to share the bounty that was promised on the Meat Platter Meal for Four' deal bought through Groupon. Took us a while to find the way into the place where we were greeted...by a bemused lady behind the bar who didn't know what to do with our voucher I'm just a friend visiting she stated. The lady owner soon appeared, showed us to our table and served us our complementary (bought as part of voucher) half pint drinks. It was very quiet and lacking something...ah ... atmosphere.
