"we drove a fair distance, as the menu looked great! Eating was a little slow to arrive, but that's okay since they only just started eating lunch. my veggie roast was ok (not great) and my nabenbie enjoyed be steak, although a small part. the team was friendly and helpful when they got their attention. the cost for my 11 year old sons meal was the greatest shocker. he wanted the veggieburger £15.50 on the menu. he wanted it without a side salad, pickle, relish, cheese and so on. Instead, we asked if all the beats could be thrown for a piece of halloumi that they like to do. when the bill came, they had calculated £15.50 for the burger (as expected), but an additional £5 for the disc of halloumi! I asked the bill thinking that it was a mistake, but was said it wasn't a mistake, and halloumi is in world-wide lack and expensive. I am not the way to argue with a waiter and only paid the bill that expresses it was incredibly expensive. overall I think £20.50 for a veggie burger and a piece helloumi is probably the most expensive meal I have ever paid! it really could not justify returning to these trips."

The food is not value for money- £28 for a lamb stew with spices and the fitting out is clinical. Not recommended.

Foods always good. Ambience is good also. Wider drinks menu required for beer/lager. Fine if you want strong lager ie. around the 5% mark. Session lager is hard to find. A Moretti, Madri or Carling is needed. The peroni is lovely but it's too strong to drink all night!

what a stunning pub restaurant. we stayed here on the way to home from birmingham to london and had a nice experience. the garden was nice to sit in the sun with a drink. then the restaurant was really nice. the waiter was absolutely beautiful and eating was delicious. highly recommended!

8 of us went to a high-time ceremony in the office to the book house. I remember this place when it was the town house when my office was next door and we had many post-work meetings there. excellently full English, but otherwise a quite limited menu, although we all enjoyed it. one of our futures found it difficult to find something suitable for lunch. a good, if quite expensive, champagner to roast the braut and the tantigam and the wine list looked fantastic and varied.

We went for Sunday lunch and arrived at 4pm and eventually taken to our seat (we asked to move and were ignored) we ordered 2 Roast Turkey and side of Cauliflower cheese, I tried the cauliflower cheese and it had a very sour taste to then realise the cauliflower was rotten I told a person I presumed was a manager who said “do you want another?” With no acknowledgment or apology. We have been here before and it was fantastic however both service and food really let them down this time.
