"We called here so my partner could taste their porter (I had lager). There is a great range of different beers and lagers plus soft drinks. We initially sat outside which was interesting, not least because someone came for a pint on her horse! It’s a small business park so we were effectively sitting next to a huge car park which, while not the most attractive, had seating that made it feel less industrial. The inside is equally basic with a mix of wooden tables and seats and upended barrels to stand and chat. We visited early afternoon and it was relatively busy and I would imagine it has quite a crowd on evenings and weekends. Staveley has enough of interest to warrant a visit even an overnight stay, especially if you like walking and, if you like beer I would say this place is a must."

The choice and variety of bees are excellent, however the food is extremely poor , even the scotch egg is served cold , sort the food out and it’s a great social venue View menu

If you like real ale (I do) then make a pilgrimage here and you won’t be disappointed. On our visit they had some eight or more real ales on offer covering a wide range of styles. Very nice too!

Great range of beers that were kept immaculately. Great vibe inside and outwith attentive and friendly staff. Good value for money. Stayed in Staveley four nights and couldn't resist one or two beers a day here. View menu

Nice little cafe. Lots of different areas to sit inside. Plenty of character. Nice and clean everywhere, toilets included. Two outside seating areas overlooking a river. Menu is pretty decent as well with reasonable prices. Last time I went I had a full English breakfast for £7.90, which included a cafetiere of coffee. I always call in when I go to Wheelbase to look at really expensive bicycles that I can't afford.

I recently visited this restaurant after taking a lovely walk from Ings along the Dale's Way. It's a great place for real ale enthusiasts, with plenty of options on tap. Unfortunately, they were out of helles during our visit, but we still enjoyed sampling a few different beers in the sun. The outdoor seating area isn't the best, located in the middle of a retail park and car park. However, it's definitely worth a visit as you can also purchase their ales to take away at reasonable prices.

"We were sure to book ahead for a table of 4 for 5.15 as it was a late Sunday roast we were fully aware that not everything would be available so it was no surprise when we were told that there was only gammon left for the roast option however there was still fish and chips homemade steak pie or vegetable lasagne. We happily opted for 3 gammon roast dinners and a homemade steak pie with mash (you get the choice of which potato you'd like) The food arrived piping hot with plenty of everything and it was so so tasty you could really tell everything was lovingly made from scratch for the roast the potatoes came both roasted and mashed with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash. A generous helping of gammon and a large Yorkshire pudding with gravy that was clearly made with the juices as it was so flavourful. The steak pie was brilliant too homemade with large chunks of steak and a choice of potato and whether you'd like the same veg as that with the roast or with peas. This also came with gravy. For dessert there was a choice of either chocolate fudge cake, caramel apple pie or sticky toffee pudding and you had the choice of either cream, ice cream or custard. 2 of us got it with custard and 2 of us got it with ice cream and it wasn't overbearingly sweet it was perfect with a delicious caramel top! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the drinks and service and will be back again one day if we find ourselves holidaying here again"
