"Fantastic roast dinner! WOW! I’m forever in search of a great Sunday roast. And after a run of very disappointing ones I’m pleased to say this really hit the spot. Cosy little pub, fire roaring and fantastic home cooked comfort food at a great price. I had roast beef. The beef comes from a local butcher and you could taste that. Generous slices of beef, with sausage stuffing, two crisp home made Yorkshire puddings, proper roast potatoes and then huge trays of seasonal veg and home made cauliflower cheese. And the gravy made from the roasting juices. It was amazing and great value! My 5 year old foodie daughter had the adults roast and near enough cleared her plate it was that delicious!"

Excellent beers and really good pub food, served in large portions. Lasagne is a stand out dish, but the burgers are spectacular.

A very tasty plate of piping hot food which was very reasonably priced. Home cooking at its best. Friendly staff and a proper local pub

Great night as usual at The Bell. Beer is always good here and The Bell Inn Burger is exceptionally good, in fact the best I've had in a long time.. good old fashioned local with friendly staff and customers.

From the moment we entered the pub we were given a warm welcome. Very friendly people. The food was really good, lovely and fresh. It is a proper pub that welcomes all, drinkers and eaters. We will definitely return.

The Bell is a lovely country pub serving good Real Ale and quality Pub food. Popular with locals and visitors alike. We both had stuffed flat mushroom bacon, cheese and trimmings. Mains were a quality home made Cottage Pie and a Surf and Turf Burger good helpings and freshly cooked. Reasonable prices.

Arrived about 6.50 on a Thursday night. Pub was quiet. We were looking for a meal but were told we could not eat there. There was one table set for 4 places and we were told that this was for a booking at 7.30. Problem was there was ‘only mother in the kitchen’. Given we were there 40 minutes before the group was due to arrive to be unable to serve us seemed odd.

If you 're in the area on a Sunday, look no further for an absolutely fabulous Sunday lunch. We were there yesterday I chose roast pork, and my husband a 'trio of meats ' beef pork chicken, and they came plated with 2 enormous yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes. In a separate dish...boiled new potatoes cauliflower cheese leeks and carrots, and individual jugs of gravy, plus sauces. We were so full we couldn 't manage a desert, but it was a very satisfying meal....throw in the log fire...and it made for a perfect Sunday afternoon.

"So disappointingBefore coming to the swan I had looked at the menu online, as my youngest child has allergies and is dairy free. It states on the menu that ‘light bites’ are GF and most can be adapted to be DF, brilliant! It was our last day of our holiday and I thought I’d treat them to a nice lunch out before heading home. Where do I start, the service attitude from the lady behind the bar was shocking. I asked what could be made DF for my son and was told that there wasn’t anything and they don’t cater for allergies?! I pointed out on the menu that they state they can and was met with an eye roll basically. Anyway, I thought I would get him some chips, nope, they fry them in the same oil as the dairy and meat products we are vegetarian ! I then asked about the VEGAN dishes they had and I was told they are also cooked and prepared for alongside the meat products so they can’t guarantee they will actually be vegan!! By this point my daughters had already got excited about eating out and the play area that I couldn’t really back track, so I went against my better judgement and ordered 3 sandwiches on granary bread and a childrens fish chips. My son had a packet of crisps. The sandwiches arrived and were absolutely awful, the cheese and onion one was 2 slices of cheap shop bought bread with some pre grated cheese and a couple of slices of onion not even any butter! It wasn’t cheap, £45 for 4 soft drinks, 3 sandwiches and a child meal. Then there’s the play area, sharp screws poking up through the wood chip, lose sharp fixings on top of the slide, and a massive electric open cable under the swings! We swiftly left, it was such a bad end to our holiday and should have been our final hurrah before driving home. Was appalled at their attitude towards me, was treated like an inconvenience, food was awful, please don’t eat there if you are Vegan, although the dish is vegan ? they certainly don’t take the steps necessary to keep it away from meat, and definitely not safe for anyone with an allergy. Such a shame as the location is so pretty with the river opposite, we were excited and left feeling really disappointed. Will not be back."
