"Two of us arrived at 10pm on Friday evening without a reservation and the staff were happy to serve us. We’d already walked past three curry houses in the town centre with no customers, but this place still had people in which I think must be testament to their reputation. Service was good and friendly, and we never felt rushed. Poppadoms fresh and addictive, king prawn puri and lamb chop tikka starters both really tasty. Fish curry (madras? and chicken dansak for mains, boiled rice and a really soft fresh peshwari naan. If we’d only been having mains we might have found the portions a little small, but as part of a larger meal they were great. Would love to see some more dessert options, but the mango kulfi we shared was nice. A bottle of house wine at around £23, so not cheap but not extortionate either. Everything felt clean and cared for. Overall we’d really recommend, and we’ll be returning!"

"I visited last week for lunch with my step daughter and our dog. The cafe was pretty full but despite this there wasn’t a queue to order and service was good. We had great lattes, a super hearty bowl with tuna, and a Mexican wrap for lunch which were fresh and very tasty. We finished off with delicious chocolate brownies which are baked in house. The staff in Baobab are friendly and efficient, and all seem to love dogs our dog had plenty of fuss and a treat! This cafe ticks every box well run, lots of great food and drink choices and a lovely vibe."

"This was my first visit, and I met friends for a Sunday lunch. We arrived 45 minutes early for our table, but it wasn't a problem as we wanted to enjoy a couple of pints first. They had Cruz Campo and Camden Pale on draft. We all ordered three courses, and the food was excellent. The service was prompt, thanks to the lovely and friendly waitresses. The owner was very welcoming and appreciated our business. With great beer, delicious food, and attentive service, there was really nothing to complain about. I look forward to coming back soon. Note: There’s a free car park right across from the restaurant."

"This was our first Christmas dinner out as a family so we did not know what to expect. We have been to the Packe Arms many times and have always been impressed. Christmas Day was no exception. Staff were lovely, food was brilliant and the atmosphere was very festive. We particularly loved that there was a busy atmosphere but that the pub had not been packed to the max. The flow of families was very well managed, it wasn't too crowded and you weren't rushed off your table either, but there were enough people about to feel like tounwere sharing the daybwith others. We were served quickly but leisurely and not once we're we made to feel an inconvenience or a bother. "Booked a table early for yesterday evening. Not been here before but it looked nice from outside.We were warmly greeted and offered any seat in the house. Excellent menu,our waiter came for drinks order and took our meal requirements.Lately, we, as a family, have eaten at various places around the town. and so often it`s disappointing cool or worse food being the biggest gripe. Here this evening, nothing could be improved upon.The food was served piping hot, the service intervals between courses was right. The food was excellent, the cleanliness, the comfort, the attentive but not overbearing waiter all first rate.Finally the prices were very reasonable. I shall come again. If you`re looking for an evening out then given Ryan`s a try!"
