"Nice little cafe/restaurant. Friendly staff. Aromatic coffee. Sadly, extremely overpriced. Two course for £25 (which might be a small salad and cake) plus 12.5% service charge. Used to be a place where I could meet my friends for a tasty something. Not any more… Sunday lunch time almost empty. Says it all really… I will not be coming back to eat, maybe only for coffee…"

We came for brunch and had the Welsh Rarebit and Berry compote waffles. Both delicious and very reasonably priced! Worth a visit and we will definitely be back!

I discovered The Bookstore today and it was a wonderful experience. The food, the staff, and the ambiance all came together perfectly. I highly recommend it to everyone.

What a stunning experience. Truly, one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had. I had the beef on the Sunday menu. Beautifully cooked! ... and the roasts are the best I’ve ever had! View menu

Nice place for cake and coffee. Lovely atmosphere. Bit pricey, especially the course menu, which was OK but not as tasty as the cakes and some previous stews and savoury dishes they did previously.

We have visited the restaurant several times, but recently tried their supper club burger night for the first time. The food was fantastic, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. This restaurant has become one of our favorite places in the neighborhood for a delicious meal.

The food, ambiance, and service at this restaurant are all lovely. My companion and I enjoyed the Bookstore Breakfast. Surprisingly, the place was not busy for a Friday lunchtime. It feels like a hidden gem that not many people know about. We definitely plan on returning to try more brunch items and perhaps even have dinner there in the future. View menu

A good range of dishes, all healthy look but more imprtantly tasty. A place for a coffee and cake or a full lunch. Good seection of local beers as well. It's a beacon of light in the otherwise drab town of Erith. Definitely worth a detour. It's part of an arts and craft centre, you can even buy unsuuall plants for your garden, What's not to like!

The quiches are quite simply the best I have ever tasted. A different flavour every week and they never disappoint. The pastry is crisp and the fillings savoury and delicious. Service is always friendly and the cake selection is also very tempting. A short walk from Erith station so a glass of two of wine or beer can be enjoyed too. Highly recommended.

"At our table, we noticed that the adjacent table received STK's signature bread right away, while we hadn’t even been offered any. After ordering drinks, we waited about 10 minutes before our waiter came over to ask how everything was. My husband mentioned that we were still waiting for our drinks, which arrived shortly after he asked. We ordered our meals, and my husband chose the calamari starter, which was impressively large. We both opted for steaks. As we were enjoying our conversation, another couple seated nearby received their bread and dip almost immediately. This made me wonder if we had been forgotten, so I asked a staff member if we had missed out on something.... we were indeed overlooked, but thankfully the bread came shortly after. Once our food was finally ready, it was delivered by a different waiter (a runner) to a table next to us and just left there instead of being brought to us. After a while, we managed to get another waiter’s attention to bring our food over. When our meals did arrive, they were quite nice. The asparagus was good, and the truffle fries were delightful—hard to go wrong with deep-fried fries, really. After finishing our meals, we had empty plates in front of us for about 20 minutes. I wanted to order a warm cookie, but at that point, I had lost interest in what was meant to be a special meal, and we just wanted to return to our suite. When we finally asked for the bill, it seemed they were aware we weren't completely satisfied. The bill was £140 after a discount (I had opted out of the optional service fee of £17.50), but we were actually charged £152. I didn't bother to argue about it. For a restaurant that prides itself on its service, we expected much better."
