"After forking out a significant amount for this two-night stay, I couldn't help but feel that my investment was far from justified. The issues that arose during my visit left me deeply unsatisfied and questioning the value of my expenditure. The first night was marred by the room lock malfunctioning, which not only posed a security concern but also led to considerable inconvenience. Despite my immediate report of the problem, the promised resolution for the next day failed to materialize, leaving me with a sense of neglect and frustration. What's more, my dismay continued into the second day as the room remained untouched by housekeeping. A clean and tidy environment is a fundamental expectation in any hotel, and the neglect in this regard was not only disappointing but also unhygienic. It's disheartening to say that after this experience, I can't help but feel that the hotel did not meet even the most basic standards of service and accommodation. Given the substantial financial commitment I made for this stay, I expected much more in terms of both functionality and cleanliness. It's clear that improvements are needed in various aspects of the hotel's operations to ensure that future guests don't endure the same letdown that I did. Very disappointed and disgusted. No way is it a 4 star hotel I personally would consider it not even worth one star. Most of the staff apart from one individual were very unhelpful and disdainful. Room was not cleaned after our first night. Sensor on the door was not working resulting in multiple visits to reception."

The restaurant is pricey and has recently changed ownership. Unfortunately, the changes made have not been for the better.

As for the rooms, they are very neat and tidy, definitely worth the price, and the staff does an outstanding job maintaining them in immaculate condition.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful. If you're looking to sample different gins or whiskies, they offer an extensive selection. They even have one rare whiskey priced at £68 for a 25ml serving! View menu

We stayed at the hotel and had dinner here. The service was friendly, there was a great variety of options on the menu, and the prices were reasonable (around £10 for a main dish). The bar had a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The Langstone has the ambiance of a tired motel. From the start, there was rubbish and dirty linen piled on the floor not hidden from view in reception on our arrival. Member of staff on reception in his sports gear was inappropriate, I had no idea he was staff! The room was dirty, carpet stains, obvious stains on the bed runner, bathroom not properly cleaned. Wires hanging out of a light. Bathroom was tired and old with deep marks and stains and a shower curtain no 4 star hotel should have a shower curtain. No drinking water, no tissues (there was a box, empty). The water glass was full of soap! Which I didn't realise until I drank from it. Towels frayed and old. The shower curtain caused w...

"Oh dear, how sad this beautiful rural pub has been completely ruined by a landlady who openly only cares about taking your money and wanting you to buy overly expensive food on a very limited menu no vegetarian options at all). I really wanted to see this pub as my late grandparents had met there many years ago, we have history in the area too as they owned farmland there. On arrival were greeted by a woman whose smile was so false and reminded me of an uptight primary school teacher, who desperately wanted us to buy food and not just drinks. We felt hurried into making a decision of a very slim selection of drinks. I had a coffee that was about 3 mouthfuls. The garden and pub itself is beautiful, and worth seeing. However, our experience was ruined by a landlady who obviously only bought this pub to turn it into a gastro pub and and cash cow. With obviously no interest in the local history at all, after my husband tried t make a conversation about the family we had had in the area. She just asked if he wanted a menu!! A word of advice would be, from a business perspective would be to at least fein some interest. Sadly it is not the quaint little rural pub that it should be, while I understand making a profit is paramount in business at least try and be more genuine if you would like people to return and buy overly priced food. And at least pretend you are interested in local history, because guess what that might be the reason people are going there. It was obviously a pub, in a very small village that was once the heart of the community."
