"We stayed over in Bangor-on-dee after attending the Race meeting there. We actually stayed in between the only 2 pubs in the village and chose this one to dine in although both were well recommended. Having seen the size of the meals we opted to...share the Pate starter which was very tasty and I opted for the small beer-battered fish. It was still a good size with great chips and mushy peas as well. My wife had the gammon and thoroughly enjoyed it. The landlord and other staff were friendly and efficient and there was a nice choice of beers. The Buck is a bit cheaper than it's rival and proved to be great value as far as we were concerned."

Been here twice, in the same chain as The Royal Oak, but not as nice. Average food, average service.

We have just checked in, the pub is a lovely traditional looking pub with beams, tastefully decorated and very clean. Food was absolutely superb. Disappointed that we aren’t staying another night to sample the rest of the menu. Our hostess was very friendly welcoming....Our room is lovely clean too. Great choice great value. We will be back!

Very accommodating welcome for a large party who hadn’t booked. Great food at reasonable prices. I had the ham, egg and chips and it was fab, thick home cooked ham and real chips. My husband had the KFC (Kellogg’s fried chicken) burger and thought it...was amazing. Best of all is the welcome and service- the Management have put the heart and soul back into this village pub- well done and long may it continue!

try to book a table for 8 people for Sunday evening meal, asked a table at 7.30 clock not possible, as the carvery stops at 6 o'clock! I said I wanted the main menu. general manager then came on the phone and said eating stops. um 18 o'clock? did the manager say that the website says to 8 o'clock? manager said: “We did not serve after 6 o'clock for the age well” recommend them to update the website and customer service update. the disappointment that does not support this local pub again. Previous managers were much more friendly and accommodating.
