"A really good variety of very good home cooked food at realistic prices. Great salads, the best stuffed baked potatoes anywhere, carvery, pastries, cakes, great tea and coffees I could go on and on. If you're hungry (even if you're not) there will be something there that will tickle your fancy. I'm not even going to talk about the fantastic breakfasts. All this and so many memories from growing up. The Clipper is to me what makes the Dolphin Centre or should I really say the Arndale Centre. It's a fantastic place, great view, lots and lots of seating just for me a very strong memory of the 1970's that's still there and only there because frankly it's so good. Love it."

Really good and I have been visiting here for 11 years now. Service is excellent and for anyone who can't carry their tray to their table, then the staff are super helpful and very friendly

I ordered a jacket potato with chicken coronation, but unfortunately the potato was warm while the chicken coronation was cold. I also got a large cappuccino with the meal, which I found more enjoyable than the food itself. Despite the reasonable price of £12, I wouldn't recommend this dish due to the disappointing quality of the food. It's a shame, as it could have been a good value for money meal. View menu

I visited this restaurant at 1pm today and, as expected, there was a long line of older patrons. The staff were busy, so my coffee was freshly made at the till but was only lukewarm when I sat down. I didn't hear the steamer going, so I'm not sure how long the milk used in my coffee had been sitting. The chips arrived quickly, but they were hot and soaked in cooking oil, which made them unappetizing.

I was quite satisfied with the food at this restaurant, but unfortunately, the negative experience we had with the person taking our food order almost made me consider leaving without trying the food. The attitude and rudeness we encountered were unacceptable, and I was truly disgusted by their behavior. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, as I would rather spend nearly £40 on breakfast at a place where I am treated with respect and not made to feel like an inconvenience by a staff member who believes they are above taking food orders.

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
