"I haven’t been to the crooked house since I was a teen which is quite some years ago , me and my partner planned to go today and booked to eat in the restaurant for 3:30pm I booked the table yesterday morning When we arrived at 3:15pm we walked into the restaurant the young girl said have you booked I said yes and gave my name , she looked in the book and said oh I can accommodate you , sit there or there , I said can we sit there in the comfy seats , she said no as iv got other people coming in , there was only two other tables occupied and they closed at 5pm so we were led to a table by the door which was half in the dark area , she then said I can’t give you menus yet as you are early ! So she left us 15 minutes whilst she went to chat to a younger girl behind the bar area . I had noticed on the website they done faggots mash and peas for £9.95, so we eventually ordered two soda waters and two faggots and mash meals . It took about 30 minutes to come and no other guests did ever arrive after us to sit in the other comfy seats so she told a bit of a lie there , well when the faggots come to say it was a small portion is an understatement and was in two tiny bowls . I could have ate mine twice , i went up to pay the bill and she said that’s £12.95 each for the faggots and mash and iv charged you both for soda wAters , so the bill came to just shy of £30 for two small bowls of faggots and mash and two waters , I said no it’s £9:95 as stated on your website site , she replied abruptly it went up today to £12.95 each I said that’s a £3 increase and there was not enough there for a child . She said I only work here I don’t make the prices and we need to tidy up as shutting soon , I reluctantly paid but said I won’t be eating here again to which she replied ‘OK !! Her customer skills were none existent and she had an abrupt couldn’t care less attitude and the food portions are expensive and tiny . 35 years since I last visited the crooked house and I won’t be rushing back soon !! The prices on the menu website is not what you pay . !"

We stopped by this quirky little crooked house for a birthday lunch yesterday. Friendly staff, great food and a beautiful little place to visit.

We went on Sunday 13th August 2pm ish to find barrier closed. No signs up on the main road Himley Rd nor on the barrier to say why it was closed. Will be terrible if it 's gone for good.. Perhaps this landmark of the black country could be moved to the BCM museum, if its gone for good. Shame.

Went for a nice couple of drinks this afternoon with the family. Father in law was happy to see it returning to the type of pub it has been known for. The landlady had a good chat with us all and asked for feedback on what it was like. Our 2 year old loved it there and just wanted to say hi to everyone. Be going alot more now.

Was working in gornal and so decided to pop in. Approach is very shabby (the road) and the actual exterior could do with cleaning up. I walked in one bar was closed the other empty. No real ale on tap for a period building and with such character was a shame so I left. Hospitality is a tough business, but you need to make an effort. The place felt unclean and unloved.

So sad to find the pub closed, we decided to pop over for bank holiday drinks with my elderly in laws both in their 80s who have fond memories of the pub from their younger days. They were so looking forward to it, We didn't check the Internet arrived to find the barrier down so couldn't even get near to the pub to have a nosey.. I really hope it's not closed down forever

I travelled here from South Wales. It was a bit of a risk because the website and Facebook pages have not been up-dated for a while. I tried to ring but the number was disconnected! When I arrived an industrial standard gate had been placed across the access road and padlocked. There were other vehicles also parked up wondering what was happening. There was no signage or, indeed, any other source of information. We decided that the owners had obviously done a runner . I am not sure if this is true but it certainly appeared that way. I am hoping the owners will read this and realise that they need to communicate with their customers. If they don 't, I would suggest you save your petrol money!

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
