"On a side note, I had an interesting conversation with a local canal lock worker. It started off well, but then he began to share some rather outlandish conspiracy theories about perpetual energy machines and his belief that Michelle Obama is actually a man, as well as his view that Trump is a good leader. He challenged me on how I could say that America doesn't like him if we elected him, and I simply told him I didn't have enough time to explain how the electoral college works and why everything he was saying was completely misguided. But back to the restaurant—it's definitely a five-star establishment. As for that guy, I’d have to give him negative five stars!"

Try the mushrooms, cheese, garlic Starter. On other dishes I heard customer comments like, “best I’ve had in a long time. “

Unbelievable place where they eat on a Friday night at 8:00! We were busy in East Marton today, jogging to refuse a table for 8 people!...

The pub has been closed for over a year now. If you were thinking about visiting, be aware that it is overgrown and in a state of disrepair.

The dining experience and atmosphere were lovely! The only downside was that they only accept cash, and this wasn't indicated at the entrance.

We have eaten here twice a week on the Leeds Liverpool Canal, which is a sign of how much we enjoyed it. A real pub with great homemade dishes (...

Previously, to come here a lot than a child, I remember getting into the channel without going to thru the pub? But I have to go earlier than it was day. can I see a way this time?

I had the steak and ale cake for about £10, and it was fantastic! The dish was clearly homemade, and the flavor was delicious. The portions were quite generous, too! Although the service took a bit of time, the pub itself is cozy and warm, and the staff members were really friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Called in here while traveling to Harrogate. finally after passing by the pub the last few months. we called in for a bite to eat its much cheaper than other pubs that close by. the food was plenty full and nothing was to much for the waitress she kept us topped up with water and coffee. if we hadn't of been driving I would of been trying out the real ales and gins. we will be back in our motor home must try is the steak n kidney pud !!!!!!!!

"This is by far the worst meal out experience I’ve had in my life which has driven me to leave this review as soon as we left sitting in my car. They took other people’s orders before ours and totally forgot us, waitress was getting frustrated at us when we asked questions to do with the menu (also didn’t make eye contact but just huffed and puffed, they brought us a number of wrong dishes that they later changed and my sons dish happened to be wrong that I realised halfway through him eating it. Steve (their waiter and a very nice man) acknowledged it was wrong and said it would be knocked off the bill, the man at the bar along with the female waitress who took our order proceeded to literally shout at me because we notified them about that dish at the end. To start with, she said it was right until she checked with the kitchen, but still she wouldn’t apologise. Never have I felt that disrespected and verbal aggression towards be by restaurant workers. Even 2 other tables next to us told my wife that the service had been terrible. And just to top it off, mine and my wife’s dishes had no flavour whatsoever! Avoid this place, it’s expensive and you’d get a better meal and service at your local takeaway. Photo is the dish they tried to tell us was ‘house hot spicy chicken wings’, when Steve (their nice waiter) clearly told us that it was their ‘house Cantonese wings’! I know Chinese, and this dish was clearly Cantonese sauce!"
