Twelve of us recently enjoyed an evening meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. The atmosphere was lovely and we received excellent service, including one friend's dietary requirements being willingly provided for. The food was really enjoyable, so much so, that I have booked to have the Christmas menu lunch with hubby and a friend the week before Christmas .

There was a good choice for Sunday Roast. We all had roast beef, which came with all the trimmings. We were told to ask for more veg if we needed we did ask for more cauli cheese as it was only a small amount for 4 of us. Surprised to see we had been charged £3.50 for it. Good choice of puds too. We will return, it's a convenient place to meet family food is good

Decided to try out the Cross Keys for a lunchtime reunion with cousins from overseas, plus three friends, plus well behaved dog. The menu was good, with an impressive selection of gluten free options for a Coeliac. Service was prompt, non intrusive, professional and attentive. Our food was well cooked, tasty and nicely presented the plaice, chosen by three guests, was particularly delicious. The ambience was very pleasant. A great success all round thank you! View menu

We dined at this restaurant the day before our wedding and also enjoyed our wedding meal here. Both meals were fantastic, especially the perfectly cooked steak. The three courses on both occasions were flawless. The staff were friendly and did everything they could to ensure our wedding meal was perfect. We chose to dine in the back room, which was secluded and intimate, just as we had hoped. The pub opened early for us to decorate the room, and everything went smoothly and effortlessly according to plan.

Absolutely love this pub. The food is always great quality and beautifully cooked. The service is exceptional, the surroundings lovely and relaxing, and there is always something different on the menu. I also love that there is always a separate menu of fresh fish specials on as well. It is great to find a menu with some imagination and flair, as well as offering traditional favourites. The ingredients are always great quality and they really know how to cook here! This is my favourite place to eat… always a joy !

Food and service were good, the waitress was really lovely. However we left feeling disappointed which over shadowed our lovely evening we booked as a large party with 3 kids. My 2 year old changed her mind having the sauce mixed in with her penne pasta, and wanted it separate (she’s 2! , and the waitress kindly changed it. We didn’t expect to get charged the £8 extra for a bowl of kids pasta and sauce, as it was only pasta! I understand if it was any other item that costs a lot more (we wouldn’t have sent it back, we would have eaten it between us if we knew! .
