"when booking we asked if they could offer gluten-free options. they asked “how gluten-free?” gluten-free is gluten-free! it was explained that the participants had Coeliacs disease. we were informed at the time of booking that the frit was used for...gluten free of charge except action. after ordering gluten-free braising steak we were told it was not available. second choice was a gluten-free bark burger just minutes later to say that the patty was not gluten-free! the hühnerburger was offered as an alternative. when the chickenburger arrived, it looked delicious. the chicken/bacon/cheese was tasteless and the gluten-free bread tasted like pure yeast. we thought the gluten-free chocolate orange brownie would be for the disappointing main course. gluten-free chocolate brownies ordered. minutes later we were told that they are not available. I will not recommend this restaurant on any of the local Coeliacs websites. if they cannot offer a realistic gluten-free menu, they should not advertise that they can."

Been here for food tonight and the attitude of the bar staff if ridiculous. She was never at the bar and when she did come back it was only for two minutes. Lovely food and a lovely place, only let down was the bar staff.

My better half and I have been here quite a few times and have tried most things on the menu... Mostly decent and enjoyable food with good sized portions.. a decent selection of beers, wines etc.. It's not The Earl of Pontefract anymore... It has...reverted to its former name of The Fox and Hounds. It is also only open limited hours, so do give them a bell to book before setting off.. I might even be there with my better half enjoying a beer or three..

Having been to a funeral in the Leeds area we were looking for somewhere for evening meal. Having stopped at nearby traffic lights spotted the Fox and Hounds so decided to pull in. Staff very welcoming. Good menu choice. Adequate sized portions well cooked and...presented. This is not a cheap eats pub but prices are realistic. All food and drinks must be ordered and paid for at the bar. Exceptionally clean toilets. Only a short detour from the so if ever in the area again looking for food would certainly return.

Recently some friends and me had lunch here. We were greeted with a happy lady behind the bar who could not have been more helpful. We chose a table by the window. The menu was great with lots and lots to choose from. I had...the bacon and brie sandwich on brown with homemade triple cooked of my friends had the club sandwich and both with the home made chips. WoW when our meals came there was absolutely loads with a side of homemade coleslaw. The chips were the best we had. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area to definitely call in, its worth a visit!

Last minute decision to nip out with dad for a pint something to eat on Thursday evening. Was really impressed with the lovely decor furniture to the right of the bar. We chose our own table which was a plus for me ..the tables were spread out comfortably. We didn't fancy a big meal so just ordered the sweet chilli chicken starter a bowl of chips onion rings to share. THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFUL! Proper chips the batter on the onion rings was light crispy. I also enjoyed the flat white coffee afterwards. The gentleman young lady who served us were welcoming, efficient professional. A very relaxing, enjoyable couple of hours with my old man thank you! See you again soon!

"My wife and I had dinner at Coraima this evening whilst staying in Wakefield and what a delightful restaurant it is. The simple and authentically decor provides an instant relaxed atmosphere. We started with drinks. I had a Telba (a cold drink made with ground flax seeds) and my wife had a Beso (a cold, slightly sweet roasted barley drink). Both were delicious. For starters we shared a Beetroot Salad. It was very fresh with a delicately flavoured vinegar type dressing. As neither of us had had Abyssinian cuisine before, we decided to go for the 'Combination dish for two ' to give us an overall taster of their menu. A large round slate plate arrived with nine perfectly neat individual dishes sat on an injera (a slightly sour flat bread made from teff flour) with a further six neatly rolled injeras and four small chickpea flat breads. Every dish was very well spiced and made with care. Delightful and moreish. By the time we had eaten the whole plate we were nicely full but it did not feel heavy. We rounded the evening with hot drinks of a Shay (a North African spiced tea) and an Abyssinian coffee. The coffee (and popcorn) is not cheep at £9.95, however, this is by far the best coffee I 've ever tasted and a must for any coffee lover. We were informed that they roast the beans with spices in-house. Another sign of their dedication to present an authentic experience delivered with passion. Thoroughly recommended. Some additional information: 1. The restaurant is vegetarian and gluten free. 2. We had to pay a £20 no-show deposit when making the online table booking the day before, although, this has become, understandably, quite common for independent restaurants."
