"Food is lovely and generous portions. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. It’s a lovely place to sit with a lovely garden where we sat afterwards for a coffee. Really pleasant feel. The service is a little slap dash and aggressive. Asking to pass plates across and leaning over guesses is not on, when they should be going round the table to clear, the waitress even asked us to take our glasses off her fingers. no one checked back our meals were ok. And the waitresses constantly walked off while we were ordering drinks or asking questions. But ignoring these minor points we had a wonderful time and will definitely be recommending and returning to the farmers boy."

Fathers Day Sunday Roast. They made a special effort to fit us in for Fathers Day. The waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. We had the roast and the portion size was really good a high quality.

The roast dinner was disappointing, and our table was poorly lit with limited lighting. However, the dessert was the highlight of the meal. The service was lacking, with staff appearing disinterested and unenthusiastic.

This was my 4th visit to the farmers boy and always on a Sunday as we love the roast! Can’t fault the service but the food was luke warm and portion size seems to of decreased. Plenty of meat but could do with a bit more veg. Apart from that we were very happy with the meal. View menu

The music was excessively loud at the restaurant. When I asked for the volume to be lowered, I was informed that there were no individual speaker controls and that decreasing the volume might affect those in the outdoor seating area. It's a shame because everything else about the experience was good.

Lovely location and friendly atmosphere . Good value for money and menu choices . Service was quick and efficient . A favourite pub for family lunch the open ground nearby is ideal for young children to run around and play and easily accessed by family members who live in various locations within a few miles.

The overall quality of the food was good, with generous portion sizes. However, the restaurant suffered from a lack of kitchen staff, resulting in long wait times for meals. Some customers even waited close to 2 hours before leaving without receiving their orders. This made for a disappointing dining experience. View menu

We went for Sunday lunch, we had reserved for 4 and turned up with one extra unexpected child.. and they relocated us to the bar area.. which was fine! food came and was good and plentiful. Main lady is a little stern, but young staff were friendly and attentive. We did go in the height of summer so lots of wasps buzzing around us in the main bar as we were sat round the windows. A fine array of desserts on offer... perhaps £2.00 for 1 tiny scoop of icecream was alittle steep. Overall, food was of a good standard!

Seated at 6.10pm. No attention given until we asked waitress clearing next table if she could take our order. She duly obliged for drinks and roast dinners. Dinners arrived after about 15mins but still no drinks. Roast dinners (pork and beef) swamped in gravy making yorkshires soggy and chewy, potatoes so hard the knife wouldn't cut. Vegetables barely cooked though some may like them almost raw was not to our taste. All round disappointment. Next table also complained and received apology from chef. We put this down as unfortunate waste of money. Paid the bill and left after a 40 minute visit. Pity really as the pub is in an idyllic location .

"Firstly we went to this restaurant based on past very good experience, the food was nothing like the standard it has been in the past. When asked by a partner owner how was the food, I suggested “very average and not what it was” I was met with this response “well mate, that’s up to the chef, there’s nothing I can do, nothing has changed” to which I suggested it has, given our past experience. I was then met with “oh well! what do you want me to do about it” The food was dry and burnt, the king prawns are chopped in to small pieces, of which there were a tiny handle in there. The veg curry was mushy like baby food. Saag aloo like dust, forget ordering that. Given the condition of the meat, it was dry and may have been re cooked. We ate what we could and left a lot of food! When we asked for the bill it was extraordinarily high for this level of food. I suggested this was not acceptable. I was told well thats how much it is. Zero attempt to apologise, understand our opinion or make any offer to improve our opinion. At this point both partners are at the table telling us that we are wrong and everyone else that night was happy (2 other people in a big restaurant at 9pm) the partners then went on to include the other couple in the conversation for their opinion! I mean this really is the worst experience we’ve ever had in any restaurant! We eat out 3 times a week and have had no complaints in a very long time, eating all over the UK. Eventually the other couple suggested a reduction would be a fair resolution to the owner partners. Who were incapable of finding this solution on their own accord. Seriously a very disappointing and terrible experience to go through.. ruined our night out and would suggest it be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!"
