"The lunch menu was small. We both chose the lamb and mint pie, which came with chips and undressed salad leaves. Why bare leaves as an accompaniment to a pie? Peas would have been a better option. I enjoyed my pie, but my companion was not so keen. At £15.50, we both felt it was over priced for what we received. We had the creme brulee for dessert and again it wasn't cheap, but a very generous portion and was possibly the best brulee I've ever eaten. We were seated in the restaurant area, but it was freezing in there, so asked to be moved to the bar as it was marginally warmer (but still very chilly). The young lady serving was happy to do this for us and very helpful. But, come on if you're charging top dollar for the food, is it too much to keep your diners warm?"

Another lovely meal. The chicken burger was amazing! A cosy, friendly atmosphere, and a great way to spend a damp November evening

Great ambience, friendly staff, food was average, was disappointed compared to what the old owners used to put out from the kitchen. Shame really...

The food we had was freshly prepared and was good but rather bland. The menu was rather disappointing and did not live up to the recommendations that we had been given.

We booked for a meal of four. The menu was very mediocre for a hotel. The squid we had was cooked in oldish oil you could really taste it, as a retired chef. Should have complained, but I was thinking of our company. Our main meals were ok nothing sparkling.

saw taken directly at the arrival and our drinks order. we had the Tandoori basket for starters and a garlic mushroom eating was excellent started chat to some of the natives who said how since the new owners took over the pub was the beating heart of the village, where before it slowly die and the new menus have made a very welcome change. the cowboy burger would have recommended as my main corse and I had filled very good value 10/10

Having traveled to the fox and hounds on 5 star reviews I was disappointed, the meals were not up to scratch . Lamb was tough and full of gristle . My mother at 92 could not eat hers . My beef was tough and having asked for medium rare Got well done . Gravy was thin almost water . Service Youngsters had to wait once veg on the table for serving spoons to arrive after asking twice . All in all won’t be going back . As an explanation they did say they had lost their chef Last month and the two cooking looked like learning on the job .
