"The only downside to The Front Parlour is that it is not open in the winter, so it's open April to the very end of September only. What's good? Well, where do we start? Easy access either the beach, or from parking on the seafront, down a side street, or a 100m walk from the main carpark. A small frontage with outside tables reveals a two storey tardis like interior, with well spaced tables in a light, bright and quirky interior. Think modern Victorian library, and if you book ask for a sea view table.A senior pair of staff drill and manage an enthusiastic and efficient young local friendly team. The wide selection of food is well priced, of good quality, prepared well and cooked to a good standard, which is far better on all levels than many other local establishments. Portions are generous, but beware if you fill up too much on a main course, you will miss out on the delight of a genuine homemade and coming back for more desert. So forget the waistline, just taste the quality, and if you think it will be too much then choose a child's portion main.A Sunday lunch for two child's sized mains, a desert each, and two cups of coffee each came on each of our numerous visits to between £30 and a maximum of £35. In other seaside resorts that could easily be £50, for something of far less quality.Fun, enjoyable and good quality in a quirky, light and homely space, with service. Well worth a visit, we never regret a meal it's just that it's not open in winter."

Stopped by in a blustery afternoon for a tea time snack ....... , and we would have liked to have stayed longer perhaps for something more substantial , but we were there just before closing time . I will return ....highly recommended.

This café strictly adheres to Covid19 guidelines and reminds any customers who forgot their responsibilities. We felt safe inside the café and the staff were very helpful and caring. Tea and coffee in this location is a joy after a long walk along the sea front it was most welcome.

Friendly service, lovely food and great home made cakes deserts. We all had the roast beef Sunday meal. The jam roly poly was huge and delicious, the scones were fantastic and the homemade lemon cheesecake .... couldn’t fault any of it. Would recommend this cafe. Very good value for money too.

lacks in character it makes up for with mediocre coffee??Well, it is a place that seems to have character, it isn't too bad, old-fashioned and like visiting a cannel boat, and the coffee in its americano or expresso form is like boiled shoes. It lacks variety, but the menu has a few things you might like.

Lovely surroundings and very pleasant staff. Had Sunday lunch. Very disapponting. Frozen sprouts (cos obviously not in season, so don't serve them! Frozen roasties too. No boiled or mashed potatoes. Most certainly not worth the £9.00 for each meal. £5.00 would have been a more realistic price. Beef was nice though

I just came across The Front Parlour by accident. What a find! Tea was served in a china cup and the ham sandwich was accompanied by a small salad and crisps all served on the lower tier of the plate. The upper tier contained a scrumptious scone with clotted cream and a fresh strawberry. To complete the feast there was a generous slice of sponge cake. I was transported back to an earlier era of visits to the seaside. The young waitress was cheerful and obliging. Thanks very much.

We were in Burnham for a day and were looking for a light lunch. We went to the Front Parlour and the lady waiting on the tables was extremely helpful. We said we only wanted a toasted sandwich and although they were only serving roast dinners as it was a Sunday they looked lovely but the way) the waitress said she would see if they could do it. Sure enough the answer was yes and a little while later 2 toasted ham and cheese sandwiches well cooked appeared with a salad side and crisps. All in all a pleasant experience with nice staff, a true treasure highly recommend.

We normally steer clear of seaside cafes as a good number of them are greasy spoon type places but after peering through the window and seeing diners seemingly enjoying their lunches we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. In fact we were delighted with our Sunday roasts. The lady in charge was very pleasant, the café had an old world atmosphere, the music was in keeping with the décor and the roast beef was excellent. This was followed by home made sweets and a bill much less than we would have paid in a pub owned by a chain. Next time we are in Burnham we shall certainly return.

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
