"Popped in to this great little pub whilst camping locally, Dog friendly and great atmosphere, was a Saturday evening so was busy, so would advise to pre book a table, good selection of beer and lagers, we had a table outside as the pub was full but all catered for outside with cutlery and condiments close to hand. Great views looking over the fields towards the hills. Food was hot and good size portions, we had starters and a main, we was advised that there would be. 15 min wait between courses but it needed up being 30 mins, presume it was due to it being busy. Staff were all pleasant and welcoming. We’ll be back again when we’re in that area."

What an amazing time we had on Christmas Eve. Fantastic atmosphere, superb food and outstanding staff. We brought friends who eat out all the time and they were so impressed they booked again within days. Can’t recommend the Green Dragon enough. View menu

This is a proper pub run by nice friendly staff with considerate senior manager/owners Why not try ThePound in Leebotwood if you like this one as it’s owned by the same team as the Green Dragon Good beer and great food at very fair prices at both pubs Very popular so book if you can but don’t miss it If the weather holds up you can eat outside at either too!

Second day of our holiday we went here for Sunday lunch. What a find, great food, good service and a very friendly atmosphere. Our two dogs, Annie the Jack Russell and Megan the border collie were made to feel at home, given treats by the staff. Enjoyed The Green Dragon so much that we called in every day for a drink after spending the day doing our tourist bit, a pub with locals who were all friendly.

Visited as part of a week's holiday in Shropshire; dropped in for lunch when touring the Church Stretton area. Was greeted by friendly staff and sat down for a meal of whitebait, squid followed by ribs and one of house special burgers. The starters were excellent and washed down with a pint of Butty Bach went down well with the mains. A traditional and unspoilt pub worthy of a visit if you're in the area. View menu

Went for my birthday lunch and was pleased to see good vegetarian options and ordered the falafel, chickpea and hummus salad. Which was a main meal for £15 new potatoes, salad, roasted chickpeas, hummus, falafel etc. I had a starter of falafel and hummus dumped in front of me. When I said I had ordered the salad of the menu The waitress said I had ordered a starter and she knew what I meant and brought me back some undressed salad in a bowl and a plate so i could combine the two great.

We were a group of three and the cosy festive warmth of the Green Dragon greeted us on stepping through the door. Friendly staff, tasty food and a nice menu. Two of us had the mediterranean tart with lovely crispy pastry and one easily swapped veggies for salad. Our other party member tried the Christmas pie which was a real treat. No room for desserts unfortunately but enjoyed a hot chocolate afterwards before we headed out into the cold winter night again to our car parked easily close by in designated parking. A firm favourite!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
