"Food is served from midday to 2:30 PM, and then again from 6 to 9 PM. They offer three real ales (session, strong, and overcrowded), but we opted for a pint. Well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome, and there is parking available for about a dozen cars, although street parking didn’t appear to be an issue. On a nice day, sitting outside on the lawn in front of the pub is a lovely option. Even though you drive through the village, which may be classified as a B-road, it remains quite serene, with birdsong being the most prominent sound. Inside the pub, there are no steps leading to the restrooms, which were clean and well-maintained. My friend ordered a burger and chips for under £12—this hardly does justice to what was served. The burger was homemade, large, and juicy, topped with a few slices of good-quality back bacon; it was first-rate, and the chips were among the best I’ve had in months, accompanied by coleslaw. I chose the sea bass, priced just below £16—perfectly cooked and served on a delicious risotto with plenty of juicy king prawns; everything was piping hot and made for a lovely meal. Given how good the main courses were, I couldn’t resist trying the apple and blackberry cake, served with custard (though ice cream or cream were also options). It was indeed worth the indulgence. I noticed several other tables, and it must be said that the fish and chips and chicken salad looked just as appetizing as our choices. I am already looking forward to my next visit, as they have a set menu that I’m eager to try!"

The food is good and reasonably priced. The cost per person is around £50–60. I'd rate the food a 4, the service a 4, and the atmosphere also a 4. View menu

Great traditional pub. We had veggie roasts and lamb roast and scampi and chips, all good sized portions. Very dog friendly. Friendly welcome and service from the staff. Thanks.

Lovely food! My wife and I had the chicken and bacon pie with mash, which was delicious, and our friend had a sandwich which when it arrived was really a full meal! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a tasty lunch of ham and coleslaw sandwiches with salad and chips. At £8.50 it was great value. Sat outside in the garden and soaked up the sun before a long walk by the bluebell railway. View menu

Loved our visit here... the staff who saw to us were absolutely lovely (and I think they were the owners/management). Food was delicious and a generous portion to boot. Will definitely be returning.... thank you !

We decided to try the green man for a Sunday lunch yesterday, as I’m vegan was unsure if the menu could cater, but the staff checked all foods ordered with the chef. I had the nut wellington roast, which to be honest, was amazing, the filling was rich, moist and very substantial, whilst the pastry was still crisp and light, even my husband tried it and finished what I couldn’t eat. They didn’t cater for vegan desserts, but after the dinner there was no room anyway. Would certainly recommend the food here. The staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful.
