"I have been visiting the Greyhound for over 30 years. My family were very sorry to see Nick and family sell up as the food and welcome was always excellent. Get quite nostalgic remembering the staff asking if you wanted the excellent pie turned out , the fabulous Glamorgan sausages , the great steak. The puddings were to die for especially the excellent pavlova. The breakfasts were excellent , generous and always served with a smile by I think Nicks uncle. When the new team took over the accomodation bathrooms were updated and other positive changes with outdoor seating areas etc. More recently despite all the positives as an extended family we feel the food is not what it was . The portions are not as generous which may be no bad thing , but while obviously catering for greater numbers the food has lost its quality. For example the pie I used to look forward to in its individual pot , was recently served as a circle of pastry with a portion of steak and kidney on it , then another circle of puff pastry on top. Obviously there has to be a balance between profit and quality but it's such a shame. Having read many of the reviews I would also like to add that people should be encouraged to leave constructive feedback. The owners have the opportunity to respond which should always in my opinion be in a professional manner."

"This was the perfect venue for our recent funeral wake. Charlotte made the booking very easy and was so accommodating. After the initial enquiry by telephone communication was prompt via email. We found it difficult making a choice of sandwiches for the day as the selection to choose 5 varieties from was plentiful and so varied. We were able to use a private room to the rear of the pub that was very comfortable for our guests. Plenty of tables and seating. The bar was open throughout and they also provided fresh tea and coffee for the duration. The buffet was plentiful and looked fabulous on arrival. It was also delicious! All of the food was freshly made. The variety of sandwiches were very well received and also the gorgeous home made sausage rolls. The cakes were scones and welsh cakes that had been freshly baked and were beautiful and light. There was also a cheese board with Stilton, Cheddar and Brie with French bread. We did have some food left at the end and takeaway cartons were provided,so that guests could take some delights home with them. Absolutely fabulous service from all the staff who looked after us so well. Huge thanks."

"After a few days of hiking in the Beacons, we discovered this little gem. We were welcomed as if we were visiting good friends. The food was delicious, and it’s truly a shame that we won’t be back soon to sample more of the delightful offerings from the diverse menu. This is a genuine traditional inn with fantastic food, drinks, and a warm welcome from all the staff."

"I have never waited so long for a pre booked table. Our table was booked for 3pm on Mother's Day, and we finally got seated (whilst the table was being cleaned around us) at 3:45pm. We had placed our food order whilst we had been waiting, but we waited another 40 minutes for the food to arrive. On asking the landlord why the food was taking so long, he blamed it on the veggie burger that I had ordered I fail to realise how this was possible, given that if a veggie burger had been cooked for 40 minutes, there would have been nothing left if it. My burger arrived cold and with a burnt bun, half a dozen overcooked chips and a tablespoon of chopped up cucumber and tomato. The other members of my family had roast dinners, meat was fatty and chewy, vegetables had hardly seen a boiling pan, and the yorkshire puddings burnt and stone cold. We ordered our deserts, which we waited another 25 minutes for. On attempting to cancel the order, we were told by the landlord that the delay was due to large table that had been served before us and that the delay wasn't his fault. It was just excuse after excuse with this landlord. He clearly is not experienced enough at dealing with a busy pub and does not accept any responsibility for things going wrong. The poor waiting staff were embarrassed and did their best to smooth things over. We will definitely not be customers of this establishment ever again."

"Wonderful coffee with an amaretti biscuit. Delicious fresh salad with a tuna jacket potato. On another visit I had a well filled eccles cake and also took home a paradise slice with large cherries. Gorgeous! On my last visit had a slightly toasted soft bun with a breaded chicken fillet, salad, monteray jack cheese. The decor, service cleanliness and current restrictions are well observed and was well impressed. Well done!!"
