"I have been visiting the Greyhound for over 30 years. My family were very sorry to see Nick and family sell up as the food and welcome was always excellent. Get quite nostalgic remembering the staff asking if you wanted the excellent pie turned out , the fabulous Glamorgan sausages , the great steak. The puddings were to die for especially the excellent pavlova. The breakfasts were excellent , generous and always served with a smile by I think Nicks uncle. When the new team took over the accomodation bathrooms were updated and other positive changes with outdoor seating areas etc. More recently despite all the positives as an extended family we feel the food is not what it was . The portions are not as generous which may be no bad thing , but while obviously catering for greater numbers the food has lost its quality. For example the pie I used to look forward to in its individual pot , was recently served as a circle of pastry with a portion of steak and kidney on it , then another circle of puff pastry on top. Obviously there has to be a balance between profit and quality but it's such a shame. Having read many of the reviews I would also like to add that people should be encouraged to leave constructive feedback. The owners have the opportunity to respond which should always in my opinion be in a professional manner."

We decided to try Sunday Lunch at The Greyhound with friends for a welcome change and we were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was very nice. My only negative was the dessert i had Apricot and brandy bread pudding) did not have any brandy in it. Its a lovely pub to visit and the food is always nice.

Shocking attitude off staff and owner..! Told to drink bottles a not allowed to drink pints from the bar as the place is too busy to serve from the bar!!! Served cold scabby hotdog out side in freezing conditions -5 !! Used to be such a beautiful happy pub but since take over by new owners it’s gone to the dogs!! Won’t eat or drink here again or recommend the place to anyone after 20 years of coming to the pub!!! So so so sad!! 0/5 for me !!!!!

We visited a week ago for the Ocktoberfest celebration. We had a lovely evening, excellent food and staff, the venue has been decorated in an Alpine style and looks amazing. We also visited again today for Sunday lunch always had hard act for anyone to follow as my husband does the best Sunday lunch, however The Greyhound didn’t disappoint, we were a party of 7 and all agreed out meals were excellent. 6 of us had the traditional Sunday lunch all the trimmings and lots of gravy. The 7th of the party has mussels and chips again excellent. I would definitely recommend, a lovely venue staff with excellent food.

We had our first overnight stay here at the Greyhound Inn and really enjoyed it. The hotel is dog friendly with lots of lovely touches like dog bowls, blankets and treats available in the rooms. There is also a dog walking paddock if you want your dog to have a run around. Our evening meal was really nice, well cooked, lots of it and very tasty. Breakfast was also excellent, the best full English we have had in a while. Everyone we came across was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The room was clean, well furnished and the bed comfortable. What more could you ask for? This was our first visit and hopefully it won’t be our last.

On our way home from from a short break in Brecon Beacons we were in need of somewhere for lunch. Not a fan of fast food, google suggested this place. I rang and asked “can we come for lunch in 15-20mins please? There’s 4 of us”. To which the owners reply was “you come straight here, we’ll look after you”. And what a lovely lunch it was. Home cooked pub lunch clearly cooked with care by the chef. No fried frozen blandness. Everything was cut, seasoned and cooked by hand. Full of flavour. Friendly service. Such a nice vibe and atmosphere. The place was busy with both local and travellers. The best meal we had all trip! Thank you for having us
