"We stopped at the Ship Inn for Sunday Lunch to break up a long drive home. We both ordered a Turkey Sunday Roast and we both had dessert. We hadn't been waiting long when the food arrived which was a lovely surprise. The food tasted fantastic. The veg all came in serving bowls so we could put what we each wanted on our own plates (perfect for us as occasionally we have to swap items we dont like). The gravy was so tasty it was a struggle not to get caught cleaning my plate of the remaining gravy once all the rest of the food was gone. The pudding (Sticky Toffee Chocolate fudge cake) were the perfect end to a wonderful meal. Definitely plan on visiting again if we are in the area."

A lovely village pub, good seating areas, friendly staff, the food is amazing, first visit was after walking around the castle then went back a week later as parents were visiting knowing we would get great food, will be back again.

We booked a table for the rugby and then dinner. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Good pub meals and great portions. Lovely children’s meal too. Only complaint, there was only one rose wine on offer which was disappointing. Definitely visit again. View menu

Cute little pub with different eating areas. We were served and seated quickly. Order taken and delivered promptly. Very nice beef dinner with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, green beans peas cauliflower cheese and swede mash. Lovely thick gravy. Would recommend xx

A big family party of 25 people for Sunday lunch from age of 12 months up to 90, having pre-ordered our choices a week beforehand. The food was very good, with plenty of vegetables on demand and excellent and friendly service. The landlady Gemma could not have been more helpful or easy ro do business with. A very enjoyable visit. View menu

Stumbled upon this cracking pub on a drive about while on holiday so stopped for a quick drink and ended up going back most nights as great atmosphere and was made to feel so welcome nothing to do with the thatchers haze at all honestly thanks to the amazing ladys behind the bar for the warm welcome to total strangers made the holiday and will look to stay more local on next trip down

Amazing little find. Stopped off on the way home from holiday. Were made to feel super welcome by Gemma. She was fab, super friendly, accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Although it’s a locals pub we were made to feel really welcome and the locals were lovely. The food is excellent value for money. It came out quickly, was all freshly prepared and the portions were extremely generous. I can’t rate this place highly enough. It’s everything a village pub should be. Will definitely return
