"I went to this restaurant for a family birthday meal and it was a terrible experience. The service was very slow, we waited over an hour for our food even though there were only a few tables occupied in the restaurant. When we asked for a kids menu, the waitress was unsure if they had one, which was surprising for a pub. The Nachos we shared for a starter were very unappetizing. The main dishes took a long time to arrive and were disappointing. The pie of the day was extremely hard, the chicken burger looked unappealing, and my fish and chips were greasy. We all felt sick the next day. This was one of the worst meals I have ever had, and it was not cheap either. I will not be coming back. The owner or manager was lingering at our table as we were leaving, which made us feel uncomfortable. Overall, it was a shocking experience."

We booked in late on a Wednesday. We had a table and the team were very accommodating. Food took a while but worth the wait as all freshly cooked.

The food at this restaurant is exceptional, the best pub food we have ever had. The staff is fantastic and Jess, who works behind the bar, is absolutely amazing!

We have visited this restaurant four times this summer and once again the food was outstanding. This place must be one of the top pubs on the Broads for delicious dining options. View menu

Welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent choice of food on both the main menu and children's menu. Great atmosphere and plenty of games to keep the children, aged 9-13 occupied. We will definitely add this to our list of favourite places to eat when visiting East Anglia. View menu

A lucky find and the way home from a few days at the coast. Despite being busy we were accommodated without fuss together with our large greyhound. Some lovely starters were followed by one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had, plentiful and tasty, my partner had a chilli con carne she she also reported as exceptional. Great food, great service and reasonable prices, if only we didn't live over 2 hours away

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
