"The Highwayman has a great choice of food at reasonable prices, special diets are catered for. Sadly anything we ordered that needed frying was coated heavily in batter and quite overcooked. The time from ordering to receiving our food was nearly an hour, even though the pub appeared almost empty. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the gardens spacious and clean. We were a group of 10 adults and children and would come again , but may send the food back if arrived overcooked. Nice location, great for families."

A very good quality Restaurant in Dobwalls and the menu is very good with gluten free and vegterrian options available and very good value for money

Tired carvery, indifferent staff. Booked on Web site for 7pm. Contacted later to be told kitchen shuts at 5pm so rebooked for 430pm, wish we hadn't!

Portions appeared to be smaller than they used to be from previous owners, but food was very good and enjoyable, Waitress and bar staff was very pleasant and helpful,

The Highwayman in Dobwalls had just been refurbed on the outside. Interior pretty average although there is history. only one bar staff on and was finding it difficult to deal with more than one customer. Service was very slow but I must admit the food was fantastic and large portions. Could do with a bit of a revamp inside.

We had 4 carveries, none were edible, all the veg had been left to go dry, the roast potatoes were so dried out they had no potato in them! The only meat left was gammon, which was so salty, you couldn't eat it, was very disappointing, as the last carvery we had there was excellent, so took family, we refused to pay as none of us could eat the appalling offering
