"This is a picture-postcard pub, slightly out of the town centre. A pretty small interior, partitioned into different areas, creates a very cosy environment. Although it should probably be classified as a gastropub, it caters for casual drinkers and regulars, which is a real positive. Also you can get quality small food (albeit at Hampstead prices!!! at the bar, which I also love. Drink prices are high, even by Hampstead standards, which would make me rate it 4.5 stars, if that was an option. Lovely, professional staff, and the care for regulars, however, makes it deserving of 5 stars in my opinion."

This really is a busy pub if you wish to dine. Especially popular with the locals. There is so much history here and being listed as a Grade 2 building. You need to make bookings to avoid being turned away from their doors. Food is good and service reasonable. Food 8/10, ambience 8.5/10, service 8/10, value for money 8/10. Quite a hidden gem!
