"We went as a family here, staff were fine- not especially warm but fine. Fish and chips was fine- very large portions which personally we found a bit silly as so much food ends up wasted. Chips were nice. There was only one vegetarian option and it was a halloumi/avo burger. It was a burger bun with some fried halloumi, mashed up avo and a few lettuce leaves. Nothing else in the bun. It was pretty tasteless and can say it was the worst vegetarian burger I’ve had in years. Sort your burger game guys! Vege burgers can be so tasty and full of good stuff, even a simple tomato would have jazzed this boring thing up a bit. Couldn’t even be bothered to finish my food (which is unusual for me! . These days I expect much more re vegetarian options, wouldn’t go back here tbh. Vegetarian options: Very poor"

Charming pub with a cozy open fire. Dog-friendly atmosphere. The staff is extremely polite. They have a fantastic selection of beers. The courtyard garden is delightful. I highly recommend the seafood platter. I would definitely return!

Truly amazing!!! Very helpful staff and were very welcoming of us. Menu was very varied even though it was stripped back due to Covid. Well priced food and drinks plus they stocked Purbeck cider which is a winner for me. The Mrs had lasagne which was fresh and tasty and the boy had kids fresh battered fish and chips, all sublime. I visited The Horse and Groom for the first time on Friday, June 17, 2022. The young man who served behind the bar was very welcoming, and the food was delicious and offered excellent value for money. I would gladly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Wareham. I stopped by while I was living in Southampton and had previously visited Wareham.
