"Loved our stay at the Horseshoes, surprisingly busy pub in a beautiful rural setting. Felt like one of Yorkshire's best kept secrets, set at the head of a beautiful village. The pub caters equally for walkers and heritage railway enthusiasts. We stayed in a comfortable over the pub room, we appreciated all the little extra comforts such as the wool throws. We enjoyed all the meals we had from a hearty breakfast to the wonderful fish and chips in the evening. Charlie was a professional and welcoming host backed by a great friendly team."

This charming countryside pub serves delicious meals in the heart of the Horcam circular trail walk. Despite arriving late, the manager graciously kept the kitchen open for an extra 10 minutes so that we could enjoy their tasty fish and chips.

During our week-long stay in Levisham, we dined at The Horseshoe Inn three times. The staff were delightful and the food was excellent, with generous portions and top-notch quality. We couldn't find any faults with our experience. This pub is one of the best we've ever eaten at. Its popularity in such a remote village speaks volumes. View menu

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had a fantastic experience! The accommodations were great value, with a clean room overlooking the village green, plenty of hot water, and a comfortable bed. The hospitality from the owner, waitresses, and staff was excellent, and the food was delicious. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay. Well done!

After exploring the North Yorks Moors, we came across this little pearl in the village of Levisham. A lovely inn, real ale on offer and a decent menu. The food was delicious. We sat outside they have a number of tables available on a grassy area to the front of the Inn. Nicely spread out to allow those with dogs (and there were many) to be able to enjoy their food and drink without canine disruptions! View menu

Plenty of nice walks in the area and we had a evening meal that night the food was amazing and the breakfast we had the next morning was also amazing so tasty . The best b&b we have stayed at all the staff was so friendly and helpful . Can't wait to come back for a few more nights next time

We stayed for one night in the new build and the room was clean and spacious . The location was incredible . The pub stood at the head of the village with uninterrupted views . The food served was home cooked and locally sourced . The portions were very generous and the staff were very kind and so polite . Great location for the North York Moors. Would not hesitate to recommend . However , one tiny criticism would be that there should be blinds on the new rooms I did feel a little exposed . But I’m sure this can be considered ?

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
