"We ordered the sharing platter of ribs/wings/chicken strips/pulled pork and sides, plus the cauliflower bites. The food was delicious tender ribs and wings falling off the bone and everything was very tasty. Veggie Daughter loved the cauliflower. We ordered outside table service on the app even though they were busy the drinks were very quick to arrive and food not long after. We had a lovely seat literally right underneath the Monument. We're South Londoners, not tourists, and this was a novelty even for us. Plenty of tables inside but as it was such a nice evening we sat out. My company's head office is literally just across the square. Will definitely come here again, either as a family or after work."

Just a quick visit for a couple of drinks. Fantastic selection of ales. Tea coffee also available, as is a good choice of food which looks amazing but I didn't try.

Love this place. Great vibe and the craft beer selection is great! Only missing star is because of the price. Understand it's the city but £8 for a 4.2% pale ale is a bit steep. Will still visit but can never session here. Just not in my price range.

Went here after an event, a decent pub with a great choice of beers. Right next to Monument, which is pretty cool, only issue was it got super busy straight after working hours, so while I would go here again if I was in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. Didn't try the food.

This City of London pub has an impressive beer selection, with a mix of craft and regular options. The staff are friendly and accommodating, though prices can be a bit high due to the Monument location. I enjoyed the well-made baby gem salad with halloumi. Overall, a reliable choice for a pub in central London. View menu

We hired the whole venue for a conference after party and it was fantastic. We were well looked after by the whole team throughout the process and on the night. The set up of drinks in advance and the buffet served throughout the evening were great. The bar team were friendly and efficient. The coeliacs were even very well catered for with gluten free platters served separately. Thank you Hydrant!

Walking past, was thirsty and hungry. . Popped in and was greeted by a lovely lady Lara, who was very accommodating. Had a little banter with her. Food was amazing, fish and chips, and filly steak. Cornish cider was really nice. Bar tender, Matt was kind enough to let us sample some of the ciders. Thank you to the staff and chef, Owen. Spoke also with Antonia, another great chat. Definitely will be returning, hopefully with more friends.

My first experience at a pub in London was disappointing. The waiter made me wait at the table for 15 minutes before taking my order. I originally wanted fish and chips, but it was not available at 8pm, so I settled for a pan-fried pork chop instead. The food was good, but the waiter only brought one fork for two people at the table. Despite my request for another fork, he brought another pork chop instead. Overall, it was a frustrating experience at the pub. View menu

We had a fantastic experience at The Hydrant! It was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. When we arrived, we were quickly seated at a lovely table with a gorgeous view. The staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for dining in. We had been craving Shepherd's pie for a week and the restaurant went out of their way to make us 2 extra pies since they had run out. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. We can't wait to come back soon!

this inviting restaurant is located opposite the london fire monument. quirky interieurs make this place very welcoming. I was the first customer for her this day .. had a hearty breakfast. had the free egg with sourded, which was tastefully done. had a refreshed drink that was quite refreshing. also had full English breakfast, filled with crispy speck and a sunny side up .. quite a mouthful but from this world in taste. if they just climbed up the diekmal and want to grab something fast and tasty, then this is the place..

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
