"A group of friends and I attended for a pre-booked meal and cocktails. Greeted by a rude waitress who told us if we wanted food we would have to order quickly as the kitchen was shutting, we have a table booked 19.30 until 21.30 but when we questioned this we was told we had been contacted via phone several times. On double checking my phone I insisted we hadn’t. Reluctantly we stayed orders drinks and food. Food arrived it was nothing special and over priced. One of the meal was off (seafood) and had to be sent back, the meal was not replaced and an alternative not offered. Following the remaining meals being completed we awaiting more drinks but was asked if we would like the bill because the bar would be closing, it was 21.00 and nowhere near closing hours advertised. We left and will never return and certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone waste their hard earned money."

Average food at high prices with slow inattentive service... wouldn’t rush back to eat as there are far better options nearby

The food at this restaurant is fantastic and delicious. The prices are great and there are plenty of options to choose from. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

I had dinner with friends at this restaurant. Though a bit expensive, the food was delicious. The cod and pasta were both cooked to perfection. The music and atmosphere were also nice.

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Manchester for an early dinner. I ordered the chicken risotto and it was delicious. Everyone in our group of 5 also enjoyed their meals. When my mother-in-law mentioned the music was too loud, the manager promptly turned down the bass, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated.

Have been here many times now and have never been disappointed. Just called in yesterday for a quick lunch. There's a very good lunchtime menu of two items for £10. I chose bruchetta and battered cauliflower with salsa sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. Excellent choice of cocktails. Waitress was really friendly and service was spot on. Love it here.

Booked a table for drinks for mine and my wife’s 1st wedding anniversary. Had to change the booking a couple of times and the staff were very understanding and sorted no problem. We were greeted warmly and and shown to our booth, the place was pretty quiet and service was very quick but once it picked up staff looked a bit rushed off their feet. We had the ‘happy hour’ cocktails at £5.95 and these were only average. View menu

We booked for brunch on a saturday with my friends for my friends birthday. We got there on time for them to tell us that they werent opening until later on, with no explanation. We waited and came back an hour later. Our waitress was lovely! Then we were leaving and one of my friends decided to have a cig before we moved somewhere else, the bouncer said something flirty to one of my pals, she rejected him harshly and he waited a few mins then him and his co worker told us to get out cause she was too drunk. We asked him why, and he told us that the rest of us were fine but this mate that he hit on was too drunk .

I am not a person who tends to write negative reviews but I felt compelled to do so after my disastrous experience at The Living Room. I Was part of a large group and we pre-booked our table and food for 7pm. It took 3+ hours for the 3 course meal (approximately £35 per person) to come out and still got some of our orders wrong. The food itself was very average and the chips are ridiculously salty! On top of that, it took additional 30 minutes to sort out the bill as they got that wrong too and to add insult to injury we got charged 10% service fee. Normally I would complain about such thing after such bad service but I was so desperate to get out there! The good thing out of this, is that I...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
