"We arrived exactly at 9.00 am the time our table was booked (as we had been requested to do some weeks ago) and were informed that there were no tables left in the restaurant. We were offered a table in the lounge/bar area or a little side room that had been opened for the overflow. We chose the side room. It was pleasant enough but tea and coffee was not served there as it was in the restaurant. Guests had to make it themselves using the thermos flasks of coffee or hot water. This was disappointing but would not have been a problem if ordinary tea and milk had been provided to go with the hot water. A waitress did try to rectify this as soon as she was told but had difficulty locating the tea so by the time she got back we were halfway through our cooked breakfast. We do not understand how the restaurant can run out of tables if a time slot has to be booked in advance. Surely the policy of pre-booking must apply to ALL guests. In addition to that the guests were not asked to wear masks while serving themselves at the buffet. While it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask it is common sense."

My scallop starter was excellent—one of the best I’ve ever had. The duck breast was also good. My wife enjoyed her meal very much.

The staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly, and the quality of the food was outstanding for the price we paid. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Buffet menu very limited, soup or salad to start, beef or fish or vegetarian pasta with only one choice of potatoes and vegetables only available on request. No gluten free desserts on offer.

When booking the hotel it looked as though it would be table service but this was changed to “temporary buffet service” which had a very limited menu. Only choice was salad or soup for starter, chicken, fish or vegetarian pasta for mains. Only one type of potatoes on offer and vegetables were available but only on request, so had to order these. No gluten free desserts. Experience was slightly better than a staff canteen. View menu

Dinner was excellent, although a bit slow. The value is great, especially with the dinner and breakfast options available, as there are no individual prices for each dish. My only complaint is that breakfast is served until 11 AM on Saturdays and Sundays, but when we arrived at 10:30, many items at the buffet had already run out. When we inquired about refills, we were informed that breakfast service ends at 10:30. The main issue here is that if breakfast were prepared to order like at some other establishments, the quality would have been more consistent after that time, but in this case, it was not.

Breakfast at Chilworth Manor on this, our last day, was a better experience. Perhaps it was because we had booked earlier due to checking out or maybe fewer guests book for 8am, or maybe there were just fewer guests in the hotel. We didn’t have to queue to get a table, we didn’t have to queue to get to the buffet, we didn’t have an endless stream of guest passing our table to get to the buffet in short it was how we had imagined breakfast would be by using a booking system. Perhaps it might be an idea to warn guests when the restaurant has reached full capacity so they have the opportunity of choosing a quieter time.

"Bacaro is situated in Ocean village and it is a little gem of a place. It is tastefully decorated for a chilled and relaxing time that you will have. There is both a restaurant and bar area and you feel at ease in the place !! Anyway upon arrival you are always greeted with a smile by the happy bar staff which is always lovely I have always loved this place but I would only give a top rating if it deserved it and not through loyalty !! Tonight I had arancini, crayfish linguine and garlic bread, washed down with a lovely glass of house red. The arancini are just the best I have ever tasted, they are both filling but light, the taste is a joy for the taste buds and obviously highly recommended. The linguine is a good portion, I love the flavours and the way the dish is both cooked and presented, the crayfish has a subtle flavour and I never leave any of it. The garlic bread is filling and not dry, they don't skimp on the garlic butter I can't fault the food at all and never have done this is mainly due to the sublime cooking skills from the chefs Greg, Alex and all the wonderful kitchen staff. Bacaro is expertly run the effervescent manager Sophie, for the job you do and how you run Bacaro I tip my hat to you Sophie is well backed up by Matt, Eleanor, Conor, Sindija and all the other wonderful staff ... You make the place and we are grateful for the brilliant jobs you do Very highly recommend"
