"I am from this region and I am well aware of the quality of fish, vegetables, legumes and meat you can find around here. We were looking for a restaurant with special charisma, small not to be overcrowded and with short but high quality menu. It was recommended by Carlos Zamora, a restaurant owner both in Madrid and Santander I trust well. We had several dishes to share: clamshells, octopus and calamari. Grilles tuna and cod for main dishes and rice mousse and chocolate biscuit for dessert. It was all delicious. Our kids as well as us enjoyed big time. Excellent ratio quality price. And the location and restaurant it self is super nice and charming. I strongly recommend!"

"Conveniently located just off the autopista between Bilbao and Santander, this is a superior example of a local restaurant in Spain. The menu del dia was 10 euros. I ordered white wine as my menu drink, they brought a liter bottle, the quantity was better than the quality, but it was drinkable. First courses were green beans, lentil soup, and mixed salad. The latter was better than average with generous lashings of tuna, tomatoes, olives, and white asparagus. The lentil soup had a chunk of chorizo for flavoring and was brought in a large serving bowl so you could eat as much or as little as you wished. Second courses were steak, croquetas, and cabracho, served with fries. All were delicious, the cabracho, otherwise known as scorpionfish, was perfectly cooked, in a tangy tomato sauce, as good a fish dish as I've ever had in Spain. Put another way, you would expect average cooking in a place like this and it was average to above average to superb, depending on the dish. There were tempting desserts on offer but sadly we had no room, opting instead to substitute coffee. The servers were friendly and efficient, tables in the attractive dining room were spaced out for Covid, and there was a large terrace, 10% extra, that we avoided because it was a cold and windy summer day."

"Por fin ha vuelto! Deje de venir durante 7 años porque la comida había empeorado y nos trataron mal, pero no me arrepiento de haber dado otra oportunidad. El mito ha vuelto para quedarse y volveremos sin duda. La chica que nos atendió encantadora!!! Y l comida espectacular como la recordaba de siempre! Una alegría poder volver a contar con vosotros!"

"Cuando entras ves un lugar muy básico, parece típico bar de pueblo..pero entras al comedor, muy normalito.. y te traen la comida. Muy bueno todo. Crujiente de langostinos con salsa rosa, muy muy rico. Solomillo con pimientos asados. .. Solo echo en falta unas patatas fritas, que las vi en la mesa de al lado con el cachopo y se me saltaban las lágrimas. El flan casero muy bueno No te esperas el nivel de la comida cuando entras, pero te quedas agusto. El trato familiar, muy agradable. En la foto del solomillo está incompleto, le metí tenedor antes de la foto..no pude evitarlo"

"Everywhere else in this little village was closed on a sunday, the streets where empty.... It was a little like a beautiful ghost town. Then we found the soul of the village, this bar! It looked a little dodgy if I'm honest, lots of barred windows, some grumpy elderly gentleman smoking cigars but don't judge a book by its cover! When we entered we got a lovely welcome and patience -given the language barrier. Every table had men and women playing games who were more than happy to try and explain what they were doing, everyone was so lovely and super friendly. Drinks were really well priced and the bar lady was like wonder-woman running the bar and table service like a true pro! We got invited to join in the fun, and were given complimentary crisps and olives we had a really fun evening. I've knocked them too a 4, because even though they were clean the toilets needed a well overdue refurbishment. Thanks for a great evening!"
