"We chose to visit here as it is a convenient location between our home and my parent's. It was a celebration meal for my Mum's 80th. We sat downstairs and despite the open fire it was freezing cold. Many people in the restaurant had coats on and people kept going over to the fireplace for a warm. Luckily my Mum had a thick and long wool cardigan and a scarf so she didn't quite become hypothermic! We booked Sunday lunch for 1330 and finally were served at 1500! Food was OK, not great. Plates were cold and our dinner not very hot, but the portion was hearty except for the quantity of vegetables. Service from the staff was inattentive, my son and girlfriend ended up going to the main bar to get a drink after they joined us as the serving staff had not noticed that they were there! Overall not a great lunch and I won't be going back; cold restaurant, slow and inattentive service with mediocre food. Next time I'll stick to my local which is excellent aand has ever disappointed me. Mum got home and got her fire alight and has now thawed out."

My company had our Christmas meal at Bartons Mill and we had a fantastic time. The restaurant had a cozy and festive atmosphere, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was plentiful, hot, and delicious. It was a great experience overall.

The staff at the restaurant were very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful Boxing Day meal with our family of 15. The prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. Thank you for making our Christmas celebration so memorable!

We received a very warm welcome at this restaurant. It is located in a picturesque setting not far from the main roads. The service was efficient and the food was excellent with generous portions. I would highly recommend this place. Additionally, our 4-year-old had a great time being entertained by the visiting cat named "Ted." View menu

We booked a table for 16 for a Xmas dinner and were blown away by the service and the quality of the food. Absolute delicious meal which, when you consider the number of people, is impressive. Service was excellent, they brought out food and knew who had ordered what, took drink orders regularly and were friendly. The tables looked gorgeous, we had the best time. Thank you!

Go to this pub about once every 6 weeks or so. The quality and price of the fish and chips always vary . Sometimes the price is around £14 and at other times it goes up to £16. Was there today and was disappointed by the lack of fish engulfed in the sea of batter. If you're going to charge £16 for this dish you need to be providing far more fish. The setting and pub are very nice and the staff are efficient and friendly. Please just sort the fish out !

Came here for a relaxed lunch with friends, and boy did i find my new favourite spot! staff were extremely attentive and lovely, couldn’t praise them enough forgive me if the names aren’t correct, but the waitresses Lily and Esmé were the ultimate dynamic duo, running around making sure everyone was looked after. The food was absolutely stunning, we came on sunday and had a roast dinner which was an excellent portion and tasted beautiful. Stunning ambience, wonderful staff, great food and a lovely setting. Couldn’t recommend enough, can’t wait to be back! View menu

My partner I visited this pub for the first time last Saturday afternoon for lunch. We had chosen it as it is a Wadworth brewery pub and was located on our way home to Surrey from Wiltshire. It was busy for the last Saturday of 2023 and we were glad we had booked online in advance. The service was polite friendly. The food was very tasty. My partner had the wood pigeon to start and I had the tempura cod cheeks. We both had the chicken, ham leek pies for mains, which were especially good. The location of this pub is beautiful set amongst woodland and very popular with dog walkers. We would happily return if we were in the area again. Highly recommended.

Me and my fiancee have been trying to finish our wedding booking and no one is available, not a Monday, Wednesday or Friday when they say they are supposed to be available. I have been ringing since we gave over our deposit and now we can never get an answer, or the wedding coordinator is never in. We have left message after message and had no return call. The wedding side is completely independent from the pub side, the manager has no clue or access to anything and they never have antone to stand in. My advice is don't bother with this place, it would be preferable to lose our deposit, which would be withheld even though we have tried and they cannot be bothered to help.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
