"We ordered a take away from this place and unfortunately were very disappointed with the food/service. Our food took an hour longer than expected and arrived cold. We then began to open the food to find a long black hair in the rice. Obviously this was disgusting and very unsanitary. We phoned the restaurant as this cost £50 and we didn’t want to eat any of it. The restaurant told us the best they can offer is to refund the cost of the rice, to which we were appalled. We expressed our disappointment to which they offered us a free rice and beer ‘next time’. Of course there will be no next time as this take away is extremely unhygienic and offer a very poor experience/customer service."

Don’t bother ordering if you want something within the hour ! Food is generally good but so are other places they should not say a time then deliver an hour later ! Sadly last time we use them

Had a lovely meal here last night, probably one of the best Indian meals I’ve had. Big portion, had to take some home. Staff were really nice and big shout out to the young waiter who was so professional, he’s a credit to the place and to his parents.

My chicken shaslik was the best I have ever had. My niramish was a great side along with a perfectly cook chapati. Honestly faultless. My wife enjoyed her prawn puri and main of Lamb pasanda and very garlic naan bread. Service was excellent and it wasn't as expensive as I expected. This will now be my firm favourite for an Indian eat-in.

Called on spec, were soon seated and treated efficiently and effectively. No over attentive staff, the service level just right. Now the food. Bordering on excellent we enjoyed everything we ordered and had in fact ordered things we had never had before, a chance worth taking as it was all fine. This is the best Indian takeaway we have ever had, we have tried many! Always hot, always amazingly fresh, always plenty of chicken and the quality of the chicken is fantastic, we have had some ropey cheap chicken before from other takeaways but this restaurant never disappoints, also always plenty of sauce, we can’t recommend Mountbatten highly enough, spot on!

I stumbled across Mountbatten one night having been told by friends that it was amazing and the best curry in town! I did wonder, how much better could it be than it's many competitors in Stortford? I had never tried before as it is a little out of the town and I have stayed loyal to my local. However, with the competition fully booked, I managed to secure a place at Mountbatten to give it a try. 8 of us made the trek across town with optimism and we were not disappointed. The food here is absolutely amazing. Great service too! All of my friends keep asking when we are going back.
