"Arrived on a wet Saturday afternoon with my wife and dog, all of us very wet and muddy having walked the coast path from the other side of Looe. We asked if they were happy with our bedraggled state and couldn’t have had a warmer welcome from both staff and locals. One of the ladies got us seated by the window were we spent a long afternoon eating beautifully prepared food with great local ales and well priced wine. A very memorable afternoon in a beautiful old pub made extra special by the great staff. Highly recommended and would love to visit again sometime."

"I really wanted to give this lovely café 5 stars, but I had to mark them down because of the amount of time I was kept waiting just to be acknowledged and eventually served. Upon entering the café I asked at the counter if I had to wait to be seated, the lady told me to grab a table and someone would be with me soon. Twenty minutes I waited to be served, and during that time a lady from another table approached the counter and complained that her party had been waiting for quite some time and still hadn’t been served which proves I wasn’t the only customer who felt like they’d been forgotten about. I should add that I was there around 3.30pm which isn’t exactly peak trading hours. If the café was heaving with customers I could understand the wait, but it really wasn’t that busy, and I felt the customers sat outside were treated as priority rather than customers sat inside which was where I was. Customers who arrived after I did and sat outside were served long before me. I understand that it can get busy, but it would have been nice to have at least been acknowledged, rather than having staff seemingly to purposely ignore making eye contact with me. I was just about to leave when one of the staff saw me and apologised for my wait. I ordered a Chai Latte and toasted tea cake, which didn’t take long to arrive and were delicious. The decor is beautiful, and it really is a lovely café, but for future reference please acknowledge waiting customers, rather than just pretending they aren’t there!"

"My Wife and I had dinner last night at The Nelson restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience was perfect, very comfortable with relaxing jazz in the background. We received a warm welcome from the friendly team The food?! Amazing! Perfectly cooked Scallops, gorgeous pate, beautiful Lemon Sole, fresh vegetables and all finished with wonderful desserts. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of Chablis from the extensive wine list. The whole evening was excellent value for money and we would heartily recommend The Nelson."

"Gorgeous. The little beach huts keep you out of the sea breeze. Lovely food. Narrow road to get there, plenty of parking behind the cafe, pay and display and now portaloos in the car park which are easier to access than the now closed public loos. Very popular for lunch, dog friendly and on the Coastal path Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"
