"I can literally not speak very enough of this fantastic little gem of a restaurant! we visited the day of my dancing on the weekend. from wolverhampton, we had no idea what actually awaits beside the reviews. After I've come up here now, I can totally see why they have the bright reviews they're doing! as soon as they arrive, they are greeted by the owner and their associates who go through the menu with them, consulting what people tend to do; what is good value for money, but obviously they can have what they want. her sharer option is fantastic and for me and my partner, satisfied our appetit on the point that dessert was a fight and I am all about the cake mat! Literally every single dish was brilliant, with some dressed even more tasty than others, but everything was so delicious that they were just happy to pluck; whether full or not! amazing fresh aromas, food with love and genuine care. you felt like you went home to eat a gourmet meal! but what our night surpassed was just the love for detail regarding how we were rarely treated to get as amazing service from each individual person. we couldn't wait to let them tip and promise them to come back because they were so nice people! if they like to try a lot of really good food and are guided through with a real, funny and caring hand, they need to book a table here! you will not be disappointed!"

We are really happy that we decided to dine at this restaurant. The food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They also had a great selection of vegetarian options. We would definitely recommend this place!

this is just one of the best restaurants I have ever visited in Britain! the eating was fresh and amazing, the owners were so nice people, chatty but without being intrusive and the place is simple and beautiful, but most important, impeccable clean. the price was also good. when they are close, they must come by and try to love it.

I visited the Olive Tree years ago, but recently had their Valentine's Day lunch delivered. It was absolutely amazing. I hope they fully open for business soon. We are moving back to Cheadle and the New Olive Tree will be a must-visit for us. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. We will definitely be returning or getting takeout in the meantime. Thank you for a memorable Valentine's Day meal. 10/10 Gold star!!!!

I recently tried out the three-course Mother's Day special menu at this restaurant and I must say, it was delicious! I opted for the blue cheese mushrooms and nut roast, even though I normally don't enjoy nut roasts. However, this one was moist with crunchy nuts and packed with flavor. The dish also had a generous amount of vegetables, with the parsnips being a standout. The gravy was also a highlight. I was too full to try the lemon tart, but I will save it for later. I highly recommend this special menu and will definitely order it again. Thank you.

The New Olive Tree : Cheadle, Staffs Louise and Martin are wonderful hosts, Tom was our waiter this evening, he’s a credit to this fabulous restaurant. Our usual set menu of Tapas was a delight. We try to chose different ones but always end up with our favourites. Honestly! come and try them all, see for yourself, this is the best Tapas bar outside of Spain . We love this place, Amazing food, great friendly atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble, book ahead to avoid being disappointed, this is such a great place for a special occasion meal and is so popular that you may not be able to just call on speck. Desserts are incredible and are just too nice to share.

a great restaurant. the attentive staff and lou in front of the house and community owners made the place special and they felt as if they were more than just an ordinary customer, more like a guest invited to dinner. we are quite new to eat tapas style and lou talked us through the menu and made sure that we knew what we did and the best options for us and our six-year-old sohn lou made him a special drink he loved and asked to order another! eating was beautiful, varied and cooked for perfection. the tequila sunflower I ordered was the best I ever had, you could actually taste the alcohol and it only had the minimum amount of ice in it, so you didn't feel cheated from a decent drink and yo...

"Our room faced the front of the hotel, and while the village was quiet with only two pubs and a small corner store, it seemed to be a shortcut for heavy vehicles speeding downhill at night, with headlights constantly illuminating our room. We also found out that the hotel closes in the evening if it's not busy, and the front door may be locked as early as 10 PM, requiring a code for re-entry. The internet service was poor; even standing just outside the front door, I had no reception and couldn't call the emergency numbers posted there. It appears that the quality of the rooms varies significantly, with some having been upgraded while others are less desirable, including our own. When we questioned our bill because we didn't think the room was worth £140, we were told that since we had booked through Charming Escapes, we should take it up with them, as the hotel receives only a fraction of what we paid. This made us feel like second-class guests, especially since it seemed we were stuck in a low-quality room. The standard rate for a double room is £90, and if I were to rate our experience like on the TV show "Four in a Bed," I would say £50 a night would have been generous. Previous reviews also mentioned an issue with the door handle and the ability to lock the room, which had not been fixed. If you’re just looking for a place to dry off your hiking boots, this hotel might suffice, but I wouldn't recommend staying here again. It has a lot of potential, and thankfully, we had a wonderful evening at The Devonshire Arms just across the street—it felt like a whole different experience. It seems the staff at Charles Cotton have simply given up."
