This charming old pub also offers bed and breakfast accommodations. The rooms were pleasant, though the walls were thin, allowing for some noise from neighboring rooms. However, this is to be expected in a building of this age. The food and service were both excellent, with a rating of 4 for the rooms, 5 for the service, and 5 for the location. A highlight of the hotel is its peaceful atmosphere.

I stayed overnight at this restaurant on short notice. The dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly. The pub is dog-friendly and even allows dogs to stay in the rooms overnight. Luckily, my dog was getting a bit too excited in the bar while I was eating, so they let me take my meal to my room. The ham, egg, and chips were excellent, as was the salt and pepper squid starter. There's a Nespresso machine in the room, although it didn't work the same way as mine. The bed was comfortable, and my dog and I ended up oversleeping. Disappointing. Booked Sunday lunch and specifically asked if they did gluten free which they confirmed they did. Unfortunately when we got there the only gf starter was parsnip soup without bread, the gf roast meant simply removing half the plate (the Yorkshire and stuffing etc) but still charged the same price and the only gf dessert was lemon sorbet. The menu looked lovely with a good number of choices for non gf so it’s a shame they can’t be bothered to cater for dietary requirements (or perhaps don’t make their food fresh to be able to adapt it).
