"This pub was recently sold by Hall Woodhouse, but fortunately, the same owners who have been there for over 30 years are still running it. They are traditional pub owners who are very friendly and talkative. The selection of ales has increased since the pub is no longer tied to Hall Woodhouse, so you can now enjoy ales from local breweries like Pilgrim Brewery. The food is also hearty and delicious. It's a charming pub that has remained unchanged, which is a relief."

4 of us had lunch during a walk. The food was very good and there were many choices unlike similar establishments. Also nice choice of beers

The restaurant is quite average when compared to other options in the area. The food is not very good value for the money and the restaurant is often packed with people.

This pub has a great atmosphere along with helpful and attentive staff, eighteen of us had lunch from the Christmas Menu and the food was excellent, tasty, well cooked and well presented

I had the nut roast, which was awful. No texture, just a slab of brown stuff that tasted like burger. Vegetables mediocre and in short supply. Only one vegan pudding choice of sorbet (in January? and no plant milk for coffee. I won't go there again. View menu

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The food was excellent, with a great selection available, and the desserts were amazing! My husband enjoyed the variety of ales offered. Despite not being local, we would definitely travel back to dine here again.

Visited after a walk in the area with several friends. A really friendly, warm welcome. The ales were great, Harvey’s and Pilgrim. Food was good all round, my chilli on nachos with guacamole was inspired, I really enjoyed it. Staff were lovely. It is a beautiful traditional pub, everything was immaculate. Really good experience and I’ll look forward to coming again.

Been here a couple of times while riding out on the old Harley. Drinks are cold and reasonably priced if a little lacking on variety on the tap larger/Beer selection. Middle aged chap with the ponytail and cap serving us was a little surly and dry. Older blonde lady was on the other hand very welcoming. Burger and chips was good, would like to check out the Roast next time. View menu

I delivered a wedding cake there and was stunned by the warmth of the welcome and the friendliness of the staff. I waited for my Brother (who was doing the wedding) and was given a coffee, had a chat with the barman and when Bro arrived had a very nice pint of the Surrey 3.7 ABV as I was driving, lovely place, proper old style pub but up to date menus and facilities, wish it was nearer.

Dropped in late for a Sunday lunch and the landlord was very friendly and accommodating and gave us a table straight away. The pub has a lot of atmosphere, and a lovely outdoor area where you can either dine or drink in the sun. Had 2 roast dinners which was extremely nice and one of the best pub roasts for a long time. Very friendly pub in a beautiful village and well worth a visit and has a dart board which is quite a rare thing g these days !!
