"I visited this charming venue for work and was quite impressed. The food that emerged from the kitchen looked very appealing. Jason and the female server (I apologize for not catching her name) were both very accommodating and attentive to all the customers. The photos reveal a beautifully decorated village pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. On certain nights of the week, they offer pizzas from a pizza oven, making it easy to dine in or take away. It seems this lovely little pub has a strong connection to the local community, as a lot of local patrons were dining there by the time I left, which is always a positive sign."

The dining experience is outstanding, with a friendly and laid-back atmosphere. Situated in a picturesque village, there's nothing to fault about this place.

We ate out in the area every night for 5 days and this was by far the best pub for food. Fantastic. Next time I'm in the area this is the first place I'm going to eat

They stayed in the village and dined there for two nights. It's a great pub with character and a lovely atmosphere. The staff is really friendly, and the food is absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back! View menu

Me and a friend travelled from Birmingham to the cotswolds for a weekend break and were recommended the rattlebone inn for dinner on our first night there, and it was DELICIOUS! Beautiful homemade pies and the drinks were good too! Sat in front of a log fire. We even booked in for their Sunday lunch before we went back home. When we visit again we will make sure to stop off here again! We still talk about the food all the time now! Beautiful pub, delicious food and lovely staff and atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more!

Yet again we had a splendid lunch and an enjoyable visit. The Rattlebone staff are very attentive, the food is excellent (possibly the best pub food in the area) and the pub itself is very pleasant inside. The baked Camembert (a starter for two) was served with a nice selection of breads, pickles and salad. We both followed with the partridge (from the specials board) which was nicely cooked and served with a generous helping of perfectly cooked vegetables. The Butcombe on draught was good. We will be back. Sherston itself is a pretty village with several nice walks in the surrounding countryside.

"Beautiful grounds and building, as you drive in. Was not sure what to expect with Covid measures in place but was delighted that we were led into the drawing room for pre-drinks. Sat in front of a roaring fire, in a beautiful room full of...character. We had trouble downloading the drinks menu and after being asked for our drinks times, they gave us a paper copy. This was a lot nicer to look through at all the different wines. Descriptions of the wines would have been nice but they have a sommelier to ask any questions, which we did regarding a bottle of rose champagne. They only offer one food menu, which is the tasting menu and ask about any allergies. After our cocktail pre-drinks and delicious nibbles served with them, we were led into the dining room. This room took us by surprise as it is very bright yellow, lacks atmosphere and character. After being in the beautiful drawing room, this was definitely mood altering. We decided to add the wine journey to our meal to fully experience what was on offer here. We can not fault the choices of wine to accompany our meal. The sommelier was delightful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She really made our wine journey enjoyable. The food we did not enjoy so much. We eat in all sorts of places and was disappointed here after reading positive reviews. We felt as if the food was almost on a conveyor belt just waiting to come out, as that is the only menu offered. I am sure the menu was well thought out and took ages to perfect but for us it lacked imagination, texture at times and presentation. The staff do a wonderful job looking after you and your needs. We are pleased we visited and may try the other restaurant next time."
