"The Remarkable Hare, or should I call it The Unremarkable Hare. Pleasant staff, and a nice ambience in the dining room. It gave unrenovated Bill’s but without the decorations and raffia. Prices are a bit high for what it is flavour and excitement wise. The portions were large however they should focus on reducing the quantity and increasing the quality of the food. That’s just my opinion though. When we asked for a drinks menu they said they didn’t have one, only food menus which seemed a bit strange.… I had the half chicken with chips, which were good and honestly the chicken was massive. It was massive, probably half was bigger than a whole small chicken so defiantly worth the price. It had kind of a smoky a barbecue flavour to it which was odd but not unpleasant and it was moist not dry. In fact it was a very nice moist chicken which was good. A number of my friends had the pie of the day, can’t remember the flavour, with one calling it a bit sweaty and salty I don’t think they were very impressed. To be honest, I think I was a regret. I was told the mash was a bit sticky as if they had used the wrong potato. Maybe next time use a Maris Piper. Just a suggestion. In terms of the burger, we asked for the one with all the regular toppings but the veggie patties with bacon on the side and the bacon was not on the side. They kindly brought ketchup and mayo without being asked which was nice however I did also ask for spicy mayo with my chicken and received only chilli sauce. However, as I said staff were nice and pleasant and the service was fast enough. I thought the piano as a table is quite fun. We were suggested this by someone (after we had already been) so it is probably one of the best for the area."

Update April 2024 Lost its good customer service. Most staff didn't seem bothered. Happy hour not as good an offer as previously.

Long kitchen hours, 12:00 to 18:00. We ordered several dishes such as the hamburger or half a chicken. We liked the chicken better. The fries and coleslaw on the side were delicious. They had a children's menu, for example a pasta dish (quite large for a children's menu) with tomato and grated cheese.

Been here a few times midweek. The staff are helpful, friendly and work hard. The locals go towards making it welcoming atmosphere. We had various meals all were top class( and at happy hour prices, 4 till 5 pm) Everyone was disappointed with the lack of the usual real ale selection. We will probably give it one more try and maybe think of other local pubs.

If I could rate this zero I would. It was my first time here, I rarely go to restaurants as the food is usually disappointing and I can make much better more enjoyable food at home. I ordered the Korean Salad with crispy Tofu as I don't eat meat and there was very little else to choose from. When it arrived it was just a bowl of shredded lettuce which looked like it was a fortnight old, brown round the edges, a load of red onion and some cold soggy tofu, no flavour whatsoever all for £13. If your chef needs any advice on how to prepare a fresh vegan Asian salad or any other interesting vegan food please feel free to ask me. Would I go here again?? NO, would I recommend it NO.
